Promising review: "Okay, I'm a humidifier junkie due to sinus issues. I've gone through several different brands and styles. This is the best I've ever ordered. My sinuses aren't giving me as much trouble as often now. I only fill it once every three days or so and keep it on the lowest setting. The humidity is 47 in here right now. It never goes higher than that but I don't want it to anyway. Filling is so easy a caveman could do it. I've had it for... maybe two months or so now? And it's exceeded every other humidifier I've purchased. Haven't changed the filter yet. It did say check filter once, but I unplugged to clear that and it's still going just fine and reaching levels. I drop those little cleaner ball things in there to keep it clean... I don't see why anyone would necessarily need to have this on the fan setting 2 or 3 but if you do it sounds like an airplane. Louuud. The lowest setting isn't silent but it's just enough for me that the dead silence doesn't kill me so I appreciate it for that as well. Haven't needed to sleep with fan noise since purchasing. Can't say enough. I feel healthy again." —stephanie

Promising review: "I purchased my AIRCARE MA1201 almost seven years ago. I've used it continuously for four to five months out of each year to humidify my home during the heating season. I *just* plugged it in to start humidifying its seventh season and it's still working flawlessly. Simple to fill, clean, and maintain. Definitely pleased with this purchase and would absolutely recommend it to my friends." —Chilly

Promising review: "I love the machine. I got it for my new piano. We live in the Northwest, where there is a great fluctuation of humidity which was affecting the tuning of my new piano and my piano tuner advised me to get a humidifier for the room (it keeps the sounding board stable). Within five days, my piano actually corrected its tuning. My condo is about 1,000 square feet and so it works for the whole home. My tuner was impressed with how quiet it is. I love it because of the remote control and the intermittent mist feature. It is easy to control the mist and I only have to put about 1 1/2 gallons of water every other day. I keep the room around 50% humidity. The little water drop window is easy to see if you need to add water. I like the size and fits well into my room. It is so easy to use and set up." —Linda Hill

    4. A 4-gallon whole house humidifier made to humidify 1,000 square foot homes that's so very easy to use, it will become your beloved, trusty partner during the dry periods.,

Promising review: "Man, I hate dry air in the winter in my house and I hate even more the whole house humidifier that was installed on my furnace four to five years ago. I had always appreciated Vornado's fans, and when I saw this large capacity, free-standing humidifier, I decided to give it a go. Oh man, what a great device! I in fact have two of them because each one is good for 1,000 square feet of living space and my home is about 1,800 square feet. In the middle of the heating season they throw off 4–5 gallons of humidity between the two of them per day and they keep the humidity level in the house at a perfect 40%. I change the evaporator pads every season and splash a little bacteriostat in the tanks when filling them and all is good. The fan, even on 'high' is almost silent, and you hear an occasional gurgle from the unit as the tanks release a little water into the reservoir. Beyond that, you don't even know that they are there. The tanks are pure genius because they are so simple to load and manipulate. They work on the same principle as the large water bottles that are used on office-style water coolers. You fill them up in the sink and then lay them in the humidifier and then flip them up so the spout is on the bottom. Until you do it the first time, you are certain that there will be water flying everywhere when you flip them up, but that is not the case. It just works — simply and slicker than anything. Beautiful job of minimalist engineering that works as well as it possibly could. So, in summary, I am TOTALLY pleased with these humidifiers and can't recommend them highly enough." —robbieg

    5. A console whole-house humidifier that not only runs for 45 hours and is easy to roll into your kitchen and refill, but also looks super stately, adding a refined touch to any decor.

Promising review: "After doing A LOT of research on a large capacity humidifier for my 2,300 sq. ft. A-frame and the grand piano in it, I went with this one for a variety of reasons; the first and foremost being the way it looks. It was the only one out there that matched the design of my home and wouldn’t stick out like a sore thumb. I was nervous about the quality of it based on the reviews but, even though it’s a plastic tub, it’s still a sturdy plastic tub that looks better than most. The second is that it holds quite a bit of water. I live in a high desert area with humidity ranging from 10-30%. During the winter months, with a blazing fire and a fan speed of 1 or 2, I’m able to maintain a satisfactory humidity level and fill it up once a day. Filters were easy to install and I got the antibacterial solution that I use about a capful of every week. F1 and F2 are quiet settings and just like having a small fan on. F3 on the other hand is quite loud, but I haven’t really found a need for it. I wasn’t sure about it but have been pleasantly surprised and am very happy with this purchase. Highly recommended!" —Davises

    6. A credenza whole-house humidifier that looks like the final boss of all decorative humidifiers, but don't be intimidated: this hefty boy has a 3,600 square foot output and dual portable tanks that are easy to refill.

Promising review: "We live in a 7,000 square-foot house and I have three of these. Especially great in the winter when the central heating tends to really dry out the air. Since I own a lot of guitars, it’s important to keep humidity between 45% and 60%. These devices do it. They hold a lot of water in large portable tanks." —Stephen Michael

    7. An energy-efficient humidifier equipped with a DC fan and has a 750-square-foot range, saving you on your energy bill. Whatever will you spend all those savings on?,

Promising review: "It doesn’t get any better than this model. DC-powered fan makes it very energy efficient. Runs at a comfortable and soothing sound level at full speed. It doesn’t take long for it to humidify our bedroom. Comes apart in large, easy-to-clean pieces which use contacts rather than wires, making assembly and disassembly quick work. Easy to fill and very easy to clean tanks. Haven’t had any issues with leaking and after a month and a half, I have nothing but respect for this product. The only downside is that it takes a little while to fill the two 1-gallon tanks using our Brita filter. I don’t say this lightly, this is the best humidifier I’ve ever found, and am proud to own it. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Planning to get the one-gallon version for the nursery when we move our newborn out of our room. Hope this helps someone as much as these items have improved our lives." —Greg

Get it from Amazon for $139.99. The one-gallon model is also available for $79.99.

    8. A warm and cool mist humidifier if you've always wanted to feel like you're living in the future. In addition to the 750-square-foot range, it has an enhanced sleep mode so you won't even tell it's there, as well as a beautiful digital interface that will make you say, "ooooooh.",

Promising review: "Elechomes UC5501 Ultrasonic Humidifier has all the features that I was looking for. I'm a light sleeper. Any insignificant noise can become a bother to me at night. This humidifier literally makes no audible sound, so I don't even realize its existence if not for the white mist that silently emerges out from its nozzle. Another lovely feature is that it automatically turns on or off when the desired humidity level threshold is reached. And best yet, it comes with a remote control. It brings even more convenience. I highly recommend this humidifier to those who desire to create a healthy living environment for their loved ones." —Haiyan Ma

Get it from Amazon for $76.45 (available in two colors).

    9. An ultrasonic Levoit humidifier, aka the Swiss army knife of humidifiers. It comes with a remote control, an automatic humidity sensor, a 753-square-foot range, and, as a bonus, three aroma pads!

Promising review: "This is an amazing humidifier! With the dry winter air, both of my cats and I have agitated sinuses. I bought this to help and it keeps my entire 700 sq. ft. apartment at a perfect level of humidity through the most dry days. It makes zero sound so it's even perfect in my therapy studio. It holds close to 1.5 gallons (5.5L) of water, too so it only needs filling every other day with really dry days. Otherwise, I only fill it a couple of times a week, if that. I do clean it every week and only use distilled water but the cleaning is quick and easy." —CD

Get it from Amazon for $89.99.

    10. A small tower humidifier that will make you so happy you have this stout little moisture robot in your home (which, by the way, can be as large as 1,200 square feet).

Promising review: "I've owned this for four years now. I love it. I normally just use it at nights in the winter months when we're running the furnace. My skin isn't dry, my nose isn't dry, I think it even makes my hair seem less dry and brittle. Every fall I clean out the water tank area at the bottom of the unit, put in new wicks, and make sure I have a supply of bacteria treatment. I don't put the treatment in every time, more like every other or every third. A bottle of treatment usually lasts me through the winter. I usually run it on the highest humidity level and on fan speed 2 and just at night. And I place this unit by my bed. The size of this unit is awesome, not too big, but big enough to keep my bedroom comfortable at night. Both my mother and my father-in-law have bought this humidifier because of my results and my bragging on not having dry skin in the wintertime. If you're debating this purchase, my suggestion is to go ahead, it's a great unit." —Exitup

Get it from Amazon for $123.99.

    11. And a whole-house humidifier in case you need a completely hassle-free house-quenching solution, complete with a 1,000-square-foot range and a self-cleaning UV light that cleans 👏 the 👏 mist, so there will be no dirty steam circulating around your home.,

Promising review: "Let me start off with saying I hardly ever write reviews on purchases I make. But, I had to brag on this humidifier. We have a wood burning stove that we use all winter long. I love the heat and the ambience of the wood stove. That being said, it dries the air out. I have used several different humidifiers where you had to turn the tank upside down to refill and carry tank back to base, change filters, or refill often. But, not with this dynamo! I could not be more simple, no caps to unscrew, to add water to the huge reservoir (four gallon), just pour it into the top of humidifier! I love the snorkel attachment to add height to where mist sprays. I have it sitting behind my sofa and the snorkel allows the mist to go above my sofa. Also love the UV light feature for cleaning the mist also, the large digital display shows the room temp, and the humidity level in the room. Love, love, love this product! I would give this humidifier ten stars." —Shelby
