    Focus Features

"It's one of my all-time favorites. Amazing stars and a really cool plot, but most people don't like it because of the ending. I love it!"

    2. Wristcutters: A Love Story (2006)

    Autonomous Films

"I’ve only met one other person who’s ever heard of it, but it’s one of my favorite movies. I'd highly recommend it!"

    3. Only Lovers Left Alive (2013)

    Soda Pictures

"If you want another Tom Hiddleston movie in the same vein as Crimson Peak, I highly recommend this. It's a subtle take on vampires."

    4. Flashbacks of a Fool (2008)

    View this video on YouTube

    Buena Vista International

"Starring Daniel Craig and Felicity Jones. It’s about a washed-up, narcissistic actor who flashes back to a time before he developed a lifestyle that includes unfulfilled urges for sex, drugs, and money. I love the British setting, the music, the intensity of the relationships, the flashbacks, and the sex. I also love Daniel Craig’s butt. It's a must-watch. You're welcome."

    5. Undercover Blues (1993)

"It has Kathleen Turner, Dennis Quaid, Fiona Shaw, Stanley Tucci, and Obba Babatundé. So funny!"

    6. Chain of Fools (2000)

    Warner Bros. Pictures

"It's my favorite unknown/unpopular movie. The only person I know who has seen it is my cousin, and that's because we watched it together. The cast is just amazing — even the trailer is a work of art!"

    7. Pump Up the Volume (1990)

    New Line Cinema

"It's about a shy newcomer at a high school who starts a pirate radio station out of boredom and loneliness. When a listener dies by suicide, the FCC decides to take the station — and its DJ — down. It’s a fun movie with an absolutely phenomenal soundtrack. For younger viewers, you get a sense of what the world was like when public communications were largely in the hands of government-regulated corporations in a time before everyone could start a blog, website, or podcast to showcase their opinions to the masses."

    8. Stranger than Fiction (2006)

    Sony Pictures Releasing

"It's the best Will Ferrell movie ever. No one I've shown it to knows it exists, but everyone loves it once they see it."

    9. Long Day's Journey Into Night (1962)

    10. Delivery Man (2013)

    12. Project X (1987)

    20th Century Fox

"The one with Matthew Broderick and Helen Hunt. Though, if it was remade in this day and age, it would probably be mainly CGI."

    13. Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002)

    Miramax Films

"It's one of the most brilliant movies I’ve ever seen, and I get the pleasure of introducing it to so many people! It’s one of those 'reality is better than fiction' stories with an absolutely stellar cast led by Sam Rockwell!"

    14. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (1978)

"Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan in a hilariously unique and cheesy comedy. It's pure camp."

    16. Detroit Rock City (1999)

    View this video on YouTube

    New Line Cinema

"It's criminally underrated. I feel like people didn’t watch it because they thought it’d be too much of a KISS movie, but it’s so great. Awesome friendships, great comedy, and lots of great songs (by more artists than just Kiss). Lots of quotable moments, too!"

    17. The Way, Way Back (2013)

    View this video on YouTube

    Fox Searchlight Pictures

"It's one of my favorites, and it doesn't seem super widely known. I think we rented it from the local movie store on a whim, and we loved it so much we bought it so we can watch it whenever we want! The whole cast is killer, but Sam Rockwell and Allison Janney have some great one-liners that have found their way into our everyday vernacular."

    18. Last Action Hero (1993)

    Columbia Pictures

"It's a pretty good parody of action flicks!"

    19. That Thing You Do! (1996)

    View this video on YouTube

    20th Century Fox

"It's SUCH an underrated movie and it's one of my favorites ever! I love the music, the costumes, and it's just so fun and funny! Also, it's directed by Tom Hanks, so you KNOW it's good!"

    20. Stage Beauty (2006)

    View this video on YouTube

"Has anyone else ever seen this? It's got Billy Crudup and Claire Danes, and is about the transition of when women were allowed to perform in plays (before that, female parts were played by male actors). I won't do a full synopsis, but it's a great movie overall, and has maybe the best third act I've ever seen!"

    21. Here Comes The Boom (2012)

    Sony Pictures Releasing

"I laugh every time, even though I've seen it over and over!"

    22. Abandon (2002)

"It’s basically a mini who’s who of Hollywood with baby Katie Holmes, Gabrielle Union, Zooey Deschanel, and Charlie Hunnam!"

    23. True Romance (1993)

    Warner Bros.

"I saw it as a twentysomething and it changed my view of the world."

    24. Johnny Dangerously (1984)

    20th Century Fox

"I've never known anyone else who saw it before I showed it to them, and everyone has loved it! I don't even remember how I saw it the first time, since my family hadn't seen it either. I assume it was on TV."

    25. Albino Alligator (1996)

    View this video on YouTube

"It has a great cast (Gary Sinise, Faye Dunaway, Matt Dillon, William Fichtner, Viggo Mortensen, etc.) and it’s got THE best twist I've ever seen, but nobody has ever heard of it. A recommended watch, for sure!"

    26. The Cell (2000)

    New Line Cinema

"It is both visually stunning and horrific, and I thought all the actors were great."

    27. Yoga Hosers (2016)

    View this video on YouTube

    Invincible Pictures

"It was my daughter’s introduction to Kevin Smith films and she LOVED it. It is, of course, ridiculous — but it’s also a Kevin Smith film, so it works and is pretty great. He wrote it specifically for his daughter and her best friend to star in."

    28. The Insufferable Groo (2018)

    View this video on YouTube

    Saint Cloud

"It's a documentary about Stephen Groo, an absolutely terrible filmmaker (think Tommy Wiseau, but worse). Despite being completely awful at filmmaking, he pumps out film after film after film...and even manages to get Jack Black to appear in one of them (that whole process is covered in the doc). It's fascinating."

    29. Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988)

    View this video on YouTube

    Columbia Pictures

"A historic bomb of a movie with an incredible cast done by Terry Gilliam (of Monty Python). It's extremely unique and creative, and absolutely worth watching!"

    30. Closet Land (1991)

    View this video on YouTube

    Universal Pictures

"It’s a slow burn, psychological thriller starring ONLY Alan Rickman and Madeline Stowe. It’s one of the best-acted films I’ve ever seen with an incredibly powerful message. I once had the good fortune to bump into Alan Rickman on the street. It was at the start of the Harry Potter craze, so when my eyes went all fangirl, I saw him tense up. But, awkward as I am, I sort of half-shouted, 'I loved your work in Closet Land!' at him, and he immediately relaxed. We chatted for a few minutes about the movie and he was truly lovely to meet; so gracious and kind!"

    31. Shallow Grave

    Rank Film Distributors

"It was directed by Danny Boyle and is one of Ewan McGregor's first films. This is always my recommendation when someone wants to watch something different!"

    32. Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016)

    Piki Films

"It's on Netflix and is so funny and wholesome!"

"Every single person we have ever recommended it to has never heard of it! It’s so funny, and the action sequences are amazing!"
