We recently took a look at a viral Reddit thread that asked, "What character didn’t deserve to die?" and their tear-jerking responses sparked even more great entries from our very own BuzzFeed Community! Here are some more fictional characters* who deserved a better fate than what they received:

*Also, given the entire nature of this post, HUGE SPOILERS ahead.

    1. Eddie, It Chapter Two (2019)

    Warner Bros. Pictures

"I cried the entire death scene. Him dying almost made me not finish the movie."

    2. Nairobi, Money Heist

    "I'm not over it."

    3. Godzilla, Godzilla (1954)

    Toho Studios

"In the original 1954 movie! I cried when he died. He's the real hero."

    4. Freddie, Skins

"It is probably the most pointless, ridiculous character death I’ve ever seen. The whole crazy obsessed therapist plot was so random and there was literally no reason for Freddie to die. He was the sweetest, most loyal friend and truly deserved so much more. I will never get over them killing him off for nothing."

    5. Finnick, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2 (2015)

"HE JUST GOT MARRIED! He worked so hard!"

    6. Eponine, Les Misérables (2012)

    Universal Pictures

"That girl was loyal, heartsick, and active in the revolution, but got shoved aside for a passive blondie who Marius didn't even know, then she was shot dead and died in his arms. Eponine was done dirty right up until the end."

    7. Wes, How to Get Away with Murder

    "He deserved so much more!"

    8. Ben Solo, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

    LucasFilm Ltd.

"He did some truly evil things, but he tried so hard to make up for it, and then he just died in the last few minutes of the movie! There was no reason for him to die!"

    9. Pietro Maximoff, Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

    Marvel Studios

    "He deserved better."

    10. Chuck, The Maze Runner (2014)

    20th Century Fox

"Nobody ever mentions Chuck on these lists! I literally cried when he died. He was the most kind, genuine little kid who sacrificed himself for his best friend. I can’t even watch that part anymore."

    11. Poussey Washington, Orange Is the New Black

    "She belongs on this list!"

    12. Loki, Avengers: Endgame (2019)

    Marvel Studios

"I know the 'past Loki' is still alive, but the current Loki's character development just got really good in Thor: Ragnarok...then he was killed."

    13. Thomas Jay, My Girl (1991)

    Columbia Pictures

"He died because his friend yelled at him and he went to find her lost ring to make her happy!"

    New Line Cinema

"He finally understands Frodo and the rest of the fellowship, and he saves Frodo, Sam, Pippin, and Merry by fighting off the orcs. He went down fighting! That scene makes my throat swell."

    —Erin Dominique Jackson, Facebook

    15. Polo, Elite

"He had repented, he confessed his crime, convinced his mothers to keep the girls scholarships...he didn't need to die."

    16. Rufio, Hook (1991)

    TriStar Pictures

"When he said, 'I wish I had a dad like you,' my heart shattered!"

    Warner Bros. Pictures

    "No explanation necessary."
