Look, in this house, we've been counting down the days until Disney's live-action Lion King comes out since the darn thing was ANNOUNCED.
And one of the things we've been the MOST excited to see is how Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen will be portraying iconic parenting duo, Timon and Pumbaa.
Well, this week Seth stopped by The Late Late Show With James Corden to promote his new rom-com, Long Shot, but he also talked a little about his experience singing for the Disney movie and, whew boy, it sounds INTIMIDATING:
After profusely making fun of co-star Charlize Theron's terrible karaoke singing, James switched the spotlight onto Seth, asking him about the most anticipated live-action Disney release of all time (fight me).
The most obvious note here being that Seth is NOT a professional singer, while many actors in the cast ARE.
And — as it turns out — even though the film is CGI animated, a lot of the time the actors recorded their songs in the same room, face-to-face.
Here's how I like to imagine Seth responding when director Jon Favreau told him he'd be singing in the same room as Donald aka Childish Gambino aka the King of Pride Rock:
Anyway, he also answered the one question on everyone's mind: Did this experience include the Queen B herself, Beyoncé? And the answer was yes, yes, it did, and he only had one way to get through it:
A mantra which, apparently, didn't even work because OF COURSE IT DIDN'T — it's Beyoncé we're talking about here!
So, yeah, I'm way too excited to hear Seth belt out, "WHEN I WAS A YOUNG WARTHOGGG," perhaps with the addition of his iconic laugh. Seriously, I just can't WAIT for July 19, 2019.
