M. Night Shyamalan's "Old" Has Its First Teaser, And It Looks Freaky As All Heck

"What the heck is this?!" —Me, trying to comprehend this trailer.

It's been a couple of years since we received any new nightmares-in-film-form courtesy of the plot twist king, M. Night Shyamalan. I, for one, feel overdue!

Well, someone must've been reading my diary, because last night during that big ol' football game, we got our first official look at Mr. Twisty-Twist's newest offering, Old. And I mean it from the bottom of my heart when I say, "What the heck is this?!" Check out the teaser here:

Now, the teaser is a mere 30 seconds long, but still manages to be wildly unsettling the entire time — a real "no thanks" of a tone, if you ask me.

So far, we know that the film was written and directed by Shyamalan, but is based on a graphic novel by Pierre Oscar Levy and Frederik Peeters titled Sandcastle, which certainly feels ~foreshadow-y~.

The basic gist — as the film's title alludes — is that a group of people find a mysterious, secluded beach that, inexplicably, causes them to age rapidly over the course of one single day.

Plus, it has Alex Wolff in it — who I'll always remember as one of the actors responsible for my endless nightmares, courtesy of Hereditary (2018) — so you already KNOW it's going to be a weird, freaky movie.

Like, seriously, I have a billion questions: What's going on? Do these people all know each other? What's the inevitable twist going to be?

And, maybe most importantly, why is this woman so nonchalant about her son turning into a full-fledged teenager mere seconds after he was, like, 6? Is she Wanda Maximoff?!

So — if you love being freaked out beyond all reason — be sure to keep an eye on the horizon for Old, which is due to be released later this summer!
