1.Being obsessed with Publix grocery stores, where shopping is a P-L-E-A-S-U-R-E.
2.And obsessively talking about how Publix subs are the ONLY subs that matter.
3.Never walking around on grass without shoes on because FIRE ANTS, ya'll.
4.Checking the screens for lizards, frogs, snakes, etc. before opening ANY doors or windows.
5.Driving eight hours north and still finding yourself in Florida because there is honestly no escape.
6.And saying "up north" when referring to traditionally southern states like Alabama or Georgia.
7.Having an extra layer of patience because you're used to dealing with out-of-state snowbirds who've apparently never been behind the wheel of a car before in their lives.
8.Two words: Hurricane. Days.
9.Two more words: Love. Bugs.
10.Sighing every time you hear "Florida Man/Men" at the beginning of a news story, because you already know something wacky is coming.
11.Being prepared for any kind of weather at any time of day.
12.Not being scared by wild animals just chilling in your yard.
13.Having to explain what county you're from by using what I like to refer to as "Disney World distance."
14.Or, if they're not a Disney World fan, using "Miami distance."
15.Having to repeatedly explain to people that the entire state isn't, in fact, a giant beach.
16.Refusing to touch any metal surfaces when getting back into your car on a hot day.
17.Knowing what REAL heat and humidity are like, and scoffing at anyone who pretends to understand.
18.And thus anticipating sweat in places your non-Floridian friends didn't even know COULD sweat.
19.And finally, saying "I'm from Florida" any time anyone thinks you can't handle a difficult situation.
