Margot Robbie and Saorise Ronan in a film together as competing queens? Okay, seriously, who has been reading my diary? The film follows the titular Mary (Ronan) who, after being widowed at 18, returns to Scotland to reclaim her rightful throne. However, Scotland and England are under the rule of Elizabeth I (Robbie), who just so happens to be her cousin. Rivalry, war, and really mean monologues ensue. I. SMELL. ACADEMY. AWARDS.

After surviving a violent tragedy, 13-year-old music prodigy Celeste (Raffey Cassidy) pours her pain into her art, which leads to great fame. However, 18 years later, adult Celeste (Natalie Portman) finds herself on a comeback tour after the pressures of fame have threatened her career. Frankly, Portman is already a rock star, but I'm willing to pay good money to see her fully glam-rock-it-out on-stage. Also, this film features BRAND NEW MUSIC FROM SIA.

Nothing says "The Holidays" like a silly man in a red suit! Sure, the suit is covered in the blood of his enemies, but no one ever specified it couldn't be! Anyway, Deadpool and friends are returning to theaters for a special PG-13 (yes PG-13) rated holiday engagement. Maximum effort, for sure.

This animated romp follows Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) as he crosses into parallel universes to become the ultimate web-slinging machine, with the help of EVERY incarnation of Spider-Man imaginable. It's fitting that this film is coming out during December, because it is truly a GIFT to comic fans everywhere. Plus, the voice cast is unbelievable, including the likes of Jake Johnson, Nicolas Cage, Mahershala Ali, Liev Schreiber, Hailee Steinfeld, John Mulaney, and MANY more.

Based on an unbelievable true story, Clint Eastwood directs and stars in this drama about 90-year-old WWII vet Earl Stone, who gets caught up in moving drugs for a Mexican cartel. While Stone is making good (and, seemingly, easy) money at first, things go awry when a ruthless DEA agent (Bradley Cooper) gets suspicious.

Our favorite nanny, Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt), is back and practically perfect in EVERY way. After the Banks children have grown-up and gone on to have children of their own, Mary Poppins returns (as the title suggests) to remind them of the magic that life is really made of. The film ALSO stars the most adorable human being alive, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and is sure to be a pure, delightful, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious time!

    7. Aquaman (Dec. 21)

After much anticipation, Aquaman's first solo swim (lol) will finally be portrayed on the big screen. The film documents the life of Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Jason Momoa) as he struggles to find his place in the surface world and his home world of Atlantis. However, Atlantis is growing angry with the way the surface world is treating the oceans (TBH, can you blame them?) and war is looming. Can Aquaman bring peace? Also, Jason Momoa's abs and arms and other muscles are in this a lot, so thanks, DC Comics!

At this point, most of us are familiar with Ruth Bader Ginsburg as a Supreme Court Justice, but few of us understand all the trials and tribulations involved in how she got there. Well, this film acts as a hero's origin story, if you will. The film sees a young RBG (Felicity Jones), who was a lawyer at the time, take on the 1972 case Moritz v. Commissioner of Internal Revenue, a case of tax-based gender discrimination brought forth by a man that changed the way America saw traditional gender roles.

The year is 2000 and Governor George W. Bush (Sam Rockwell) has picked Dick Cheney (Christian Bale) as his presidential running mate. Once elected to office, Cheney seeks to use his new-found Vice President status to drastically change both America and the world. I know I've mentioned the Academy Awards about six million times in this post, but come on, this one is pretty much guaranteed. While Christian Bale is no stranger to transforming for a role, this one might just be his magnum opus.
