19 Movie Lines That Are So Cringey, You'll Want To Hide Under Your Covers And Never Come Back Out

"I'm still wondering why the hell Superman would refer to his mom by her first name."

Recently, in a thread on the subreddit r/movies, redditor u/Sufficient_Season_61 asked fans, "What was the cringiest moment or line that took you out of a movie?" and movie lovers really came through with some great responses!

So, with that in mind, here are just a few of the most popular responses shared:

    1. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

A man saying "Somehow, Palpatine returned"

"One of the cringiest moments, especially in context, was sitting in a theater at the opening weekend, and hearing Oscar Isaac spit out the line: 'Somehow, Palpatine has returned.' The problem was that there was still two hours to go. I've rarely witnessed a whole audience laugh at a scene that wasn't supposed to be funny. I'm glad that I'm not into Star Wars because that must have been horrifying for fans."
