I'm going to cut to the chase — the first trailer for Cats is here and...it's something else. I have to warn you, no matter what you're expecting going into this trailer, it's not that:

The film — based on the beloved Broadway musical of the same name — boasts an absolutely INCREDIBLE cast including Jennifer Hudson, Idris Elba, Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellen, James Corden, and the list goes ON.
Like, just look, it's Taylor Swift as a cat!
And the set design is absolutely INCREDIBLE, created by using mostly practical props designed to look huge compared to the IRL cast, as discussed in recently released behind-the-scenes footage.

Anyway, the plot of this story follows a group of singing kitty cats over the course of a single night as they make some life-altering choices.
Cool, okay, great. Now that we have that out of the way...it's a little scary, right? We can all admit that.
Look, I'm just as much of a theater kid as the next nerd, and I am completely aware that THIS is how the characters look onstage, but I have to live my truth and admit...this is frightening.
And I am not the only human being with A WHOLE LOT of feelings related to this trailer:
