The First Teaser For "Bill & Ted Face The Music" Is Here, And It's Everything You Could Hope For In A Trailer

Time travel! Prison! Certain death! Keanu in a button-up!

Y'all, 29 years have passed since Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (I! Know!), and fans have been ~patiently~ waiting for the third entry in this cult classic trilogy ever since.

WELL, THE WAIT IS OVER. The teaser trailer (which was released on 6/9, dudes) is as silly as it is short, and it gives us a quick look into what we can expect from the boys this time around:

First, the trailer opens with the old-school "Orion Pictures" logo. This has nothing to do with anything, but I'm a movie nerd and I love it and it reminds me of my childhood — so I'm mentioning it. Excellent.

Anyway, the minute-and-a-half-long teaser reveals that, in present day, the boys are still best buds and rockin' out together.

But, despite working on it their whole lives, Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) STILL haven't finished the song that will unite the world and, instead, their beloved band, Wyld Stallyns, is stuck playing boring gigs.

So, with the fate of the free world on the line, the two come up with the Bill and Ted-iest of Bill and Ted plans, and they decide to go to the future — when they've already finished the song — and steal the song from themselves.

The movie looks absolutely bonkers in every way and has some killer casting choices, including Holland Taylor, Kid Cudi, Samara Weaving, Beck Bennett, Jillian Bell, Kristen Schaal, and more!

Oh, and also, the Grim Reaper (William Sadler) is back!

So, uh, yeah. Get ready for some truly excellent tunes and time travel when Bill & Ted Face the Music is released on Aug. 21!
