Oh hi! I own a brewery. Less than 3% of breweries are solely woman-owned (as ours is) and those numbers become even more dismal when you add Black/Brown, disabled, queer, etc. The brewing industry is a difficult space to be a woman, and alcohol being added to any situation means sexual…

No! I get what you’re saying. And it sucks to feel that way, right? Like our critique as a democracy and saying “this isn’t enough” shouldn’t be enough to wipe the whole thing away but you’re in fear of that because this stuff DOES happen. I feel you.

alisonwisneski commented on How Would Biden Canceling $10,000 In Student Loan Debt Change Your Life?

I’m livid. The average amount of debt is $28k for undergrad and $71k for graduate students, and we’re not even talking private loan debt. $10k in the bucket isn’t enough. We need help and we need real change now.

alisonwisneski commented on How Are You Feeling About The End Of The Pandemic?

I own a small business (brewery) that opened April 2020 (we've been established for years and years but moved into our own space and began production/function). I don't see vaccinations as the "end," but I do see them as something that'll make me and our staff less terrified to go…

alisonwisneski commented on Endometriosis Sufferers: What Do You Wish People Knew About The Condition?

Self reply: I had no issues with my period - my pain was completely random and on and off for 4-5 years. I always thought I was eating wrong - I cut dairy, gluten, sugar, yeast, beans, greens...you name it. It wasn't food. Nothing triggered the pain and I mistook it as normal because…

alisonwisneski commented on Endometriosis Sufferers: What Do You Wish People Knew About The Condition?

This is brand new to me! I just had laparoscopy four weeks ago today. After a transvaginal ultrasound in Aug, the ER doc found a fibroid on my uterus. While it wasn't anything too crazy, he said it looked like the fibroid was dying and it should be surgically removed. My OBGYN guessed…
