Barbie Just Made An Abby Wambach Doll Because Who Run Da World?

Girl power.

Abby Wambach is an absolute ~hero~.

When the two-time Olympic gold medalist and FIFA Women’s World Cup champion retired from her pro soccer career in December of 2015, fans everywhere mourned.

So Mattel made a doll in her likeness.

The doll sports her white Team USA uniform and number 20 jersey. It also features knee joints so Abby can run around the soccer field or, more realistically, your kid's bedroom carpet.

“You guys may not believe this but I was a Barbie kid, like for real,” Wambach told the conference audience.

"And I’m not just saying that!"

"Playing with Barbies that may or may not have looked like how I felt growing up, I think that this is a really impactful statement," she said.

"It just proves that we really are getting somewhere."
