Aside from learning the tricks of the cosmetology trade at the Aveda Institute, she gets a ton of advice from her mother and grandmother who use traditional Indian remedies for skin care.

So we asked Dhukai about her absolute favorite beauty fixes. Here are top tips...

Overall tip: As with any skin care regimen, always do a test patch first to see if your skin is allergic to any of the ingredients. Everyone's skin is different, so results can vary from person to person.

1. DIY a bubble mask to shrink your pores and tighten your skin.

You can make your own version of the Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask with 2 simple ingredients: egg whites and sugar. Sugar is a natural exfoliant and humectant (it draws moisture into the skin), and egg whites are high in skin-healing protein. "I love this one because you can really see and feel the results immediately after you wash it off," Dhukai told BuzzFeed.

2. Try a turmeric mask to help with acne scarring.

"This is one of the first masks that my grandmother and mom ever showed me, so it holds a special place in my heart," Dhukai said. "People stop me in the street just to tell me how this has helped them so much with their acne, which means a lot to me." The ingredients include: chickpea flour, turmeric powder, almond oil, and yogurt.

Pro tip: Due to its naturally bright color, turmeric can stain fair skin tones. Remember that a little bit goes a long way and swipe some makeup remover over your face after rinsing if any stains appear.

3. You can also use turmeric to make your teeth white AF.

"This is the DIY I do before I go out, or right before I film my YouTube videos to make my teeth sparkly white in minutes," she said. To make it, mix coconut oil and turmeric powder together to create a paste, and brush your teeth with it. After brushing, let the paste sit on your teeth for five minutes before rinsing out.

Pro tip: Don't spit the DIY rinse down your sink — the oil can build up and clog pipes over time, so go straight to the trashcan.

4. Need a SUPER deep conditioner? Mix coconut oil, raw honey, and yogurt.

Combine 2 tbs. coconut oil and 2 tbs. raw honey in a small bowl. Heat in the microwave for 5 seconds or until melted. Then, mix in 2 tbs. Greek yogurt. Apply to unwashed hair for 30 minutes, then rinse. "You can use it for all hair types, but dry hair is going to see the biggest change," Dhukai said.

Pro tip: This mask is great for curly and natural hair. The enzymes and nutrients in raw honey give dull hair shine without weighing it down. Coconut oil penetrates the hair shaft to smooth the cuticle and leave you with healthy locks.

5. Grow longer lashes and improve the skin under and around your eyes with the gift of the Gods: shea butter.

Look for African shea butter or any unrefined shea butter, which you can find on Amazon for $15.25. The vitamins and fatty acids in shea butter condition lashes and nourish delicate under-eye skin. "It's great for reducing dark circles," Dhukai said. Keep in mind: Don't use shea butter if you have a nut allergy, and only try this treatment before bedtime.

Pro tip: Try a face massager. Not only does it feel good, but it helps stimulate the skin and allow product to go ~deeper~. Get this one from The Body Shop for $8.40.

6. Ditch that $$$ glycolic acid peel for tamarind.

"Glycolic acid peels and toners can get pricey, so this is one of my absolute faves," she said. To improve your skin's texture, peel tamarind, remove the “veins,” and boil with 1/2 cup water for 5-7 minutes until the fruit turns light brown in color. Let cool. Remove seeds to create a paste, apply to a clean face for 10 minutes, and wash off with lukewarm water.

Pro tip: Save the boiled tamarind water for future use as a toner.

7. For shinier, healthier hair, mix pumpkin and peppermint oils.

Pumpkin oil serves as the base in this hair mask — you only need a little but of peppermint oil as it's highly concentrated. To apply, flip your hair over and massage scalp with the mixture for 5 to 7 minutes. Wash it out or leave it in overnight for deep conditioning. Pumpkin oil has essential nutrients for hair growth and the peppermint stimulates the scalp.

Pro tip: Due to the peppermint oil, this hair mask ~tingles~. If you have a very sensitive scalp, add the peppermint oil in 1-drop increments and test along to way to ensure it's comfortable for you.
