A Florida teacher took a major stand when it came to students completely slacking off on a school project.
This is Diana Tirado. She tells WPTV that she lost her job when she refused to give students credit for something they didn’t even turn in.
She started teaching 8th-grade history at West Gate in Port Saint Lucie in Florida just last month.
Upon consulting the student and parent handbook, she found what she described as the school’s “no zero policy.”
Diana didn’t agree, so she said she was fired.
She wrote this message to her students on her last day, snapped a photo, and shared it on Facebook, where it got tons of attention.
A lot of people are agreeing with Diana and her point of view.
They even commended Diana for taking such a bold stand, even if it cost her a job.
Now, she hopes this unfortunate situation somehow motivates policy change.
