A "Star Wars" Professor Transformed This R2-D2 Observatory In Germany

New must-see spot for "Star Wars" fans?

In a galaxy not so far away, you can now see this observatory totally transformed into a huge R2-D2.

Meet Hubert Zitt. He’s a professor of electrotechnology at the Zweibrücken University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

He’s also known for this extensive pop culture knowledge of all things “Star Wars” and “Star Trek.”

Although the university is rather small, it has a great reputation in their specific field of science.

Hubert got some help for this huge undertaking from his father-in-law, a painter, and several students.

The entire project was completed on September 2018.

Hubert’s R2-D2 observatory already has one very prominent fan. Mark Hamill himself tweeted his appreciation for this incredible transformation.

Bravo! May the force always be with Professor Zitt.
