A New Study Revealed Cockroaches Are No Longer Scared Of Our Silly Little Poison

    Age of the cockroach?

We have fair warning to anyone who’s afraid of cockroaches.

That’s because CNN is scaring the daylights out of people after reporting that those fast sneaky suckers are starting to develop a “cross-resistance” to insecticides.

The cockroaches are growing stronger https://t.co/TKwhJtI14t

That means they will soon be laughing (metaphorically, we hope) at our best attempts to kill them with our silly little poison.

It’s all laid out in this recent study horrifically titled, “Rapid cross-resistance bringing cockroaches closer to invincibility” by Purdue University.

Lead researcher Michael Scharf said, “We would see resistance increase four- or six-fold in just one generation. We didn’t have a clue that something like that could happen this fast.”

The study also found that the issue is worse in low-income areas and other places where pest control is not readily available.

Scharf suggests trying out different pest treatment methods on a rotating basis.

But in the meantime, we suggest another tried-and-true technique that they won't see coming anytime soon.
