But what people are loving the most about this story is that Tramp is being played by a shelter dog named Monte.

The film is a live-action adaptation of Walt Disney's 1955 animated film of the same name. It is set to be released November 12, 2019 on Disney

Monte was reportedly “discovered” earlier this summer by producers for the Disney movie after arriving at the HALO Animal Rescue shelter in Phoenix from their location in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Now, this adorable 2-year-old terrier mix is going Hollywood!

HALO tweeted about their work getting dogs adopted, and acknowledged that one of their former four-legged residents is now a bona fide star.

It's our pleasure to help out our neighbors in NM. We still have a working relationship with them in fact to help dogs like Monte get adopted. And now he's a star!

And HALO Animal Rescue is using Monte's sudden fame as an opportunity to encourage others to adopt a furry friend.

"This is also the adoption center where Monte, our movie star, was adopted from."

Justin Theroux will voice the charismatic pooch, while Tessa Thompson will be the voice of Lady.
