19 Kitchen Gadgets That'll Make Going Vegan So Much Easier

Because cooking with plants can be fun, too.

We hope you love the products we recommend! Just so you know, BuzzFeed may collect a share of sales or other compensation from the links on this page. Oh, and FYI — prices are accurate and items in stock as of time of publication.

    1. A handy press that’ll squeeze all the excess water out of a brick of tofu, so it can better absorb any flavour. Plus, drying out your tofu will improve its texture!

    Amazon / Via amazon.ca

Let’s face it: Tofu kind of sucks when it hasn’t been prepped properly. Pressing it will help it soak up spice and sauces more effectively and rid it of its bland, wet, sponge-like qualities.

PS: If you don't want to splurge, you can just sandwich your tofu between two sheets of paper towel and then stack heavier kitchen stuff on top, like mixing bowls, cutting boards, and/or sheet pans for a few minutes. That should dry it out just as effectively.

    Price: $31.95.

    2. An iron fish that'll infuse your drinks and dishes with iron so that you don't have to remember to pop supplements every morning.

    Amazon / Via amazon.ca

Gone are the days of eating fistfuls of kale in the hopes that your doctor won't notice a drop in your iron. Just pop the fish into whatever you're whipping up on the stove and let the magic happen. You can also boil it in water and drink that, if you're not down to tackle an actual recipe.
