Hugh Jackman Joins Protest Against Closure Of Indigenous Communities

Actor joins AFL stars in digital campaign to mark Close The Gap Day.

Aboriginal AFL stars are taking part in an online protest against the planned closure of remote Indigenous communities.

Indigenous All-Stars captain Shaun Burgoyne and his Hawthorn teammates posted this picture late Thursday evening.

Close The Gap Day is a national day of action to urge the government to address issues of Indigenous inequality.

In Sydney, rapper King Brown addressed a rally outside the Prime Minister's residence, Kirribilli House.

Protesters also gathered outside Parliament House in Canberra.

The national day of action coincided with a digital grassroots movement.
