Who is that guy???
It's been 27 years since Friends premiered, and yet...we're still out here discovering continuity errors on the show!

Just this week, a Friends fan on TikTok uncovered a new error from Episode 8 of Season 18, "The One in Massapequa." In the episode, Ross and Monica's parents, Jack and Judy Geller, are throwing a party to celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary. The whole gang attends, including a very pregnant Rachel.
In the clip shown on TikTok, one moment Jack is in the scene, and the next thing you know, it's a random man standing next to Ross!

WHO IS HE??

It turns out that Jack (and the actor who played him, Elliott Gould) didn't pull a disappearing act; instead, it all has to do with the way the show was filmed.

According to Digital Spy and some camera-savvy TikTokers, the error is noticeable because it's from the HD remastered version of the episode, which has a 16:9 aspect ratio. The show was originally shot in the 4:3 format, meaning that the wider aspect ratio is going to show a lot more than was originally intended — like stand-in actors who don't quite fit in.

Checks out!
It turns out, this isn't even the first time fans have noticed an error like this! There have been several instances when stand-ins were spotted instead of the actual actors, like this one:
You can't fool a #Friends fanatic. Why is this not-Rachel standing in for Rachel in this ep? https://t.co/7U8K9VAhl4
While those errors can seemingly be explained, there's another error from "The One in Massapequa" that has me scratching my head...

WHY are Jack and Judy wearing the SAME EXACT outfits at their party as in their anniversary photo on the wall?? Did they take the photo and then run to Kinkos in the middle of the party?

Seems a little suspicious, if you ask me...but alas, only one mystery can be solved today.
