The Toddler Who "Woke Up" At Her Own Funeral Is Apparently Dead

The three-year-old had shown signs of life prior to a church service but doctors have confirmed she passed away, according to reports.

According to the Philippine Star, a 3-year-old from Zamboanga del Sur in the southern Philippines, woke up prior to her funeral service in Aurora.

The website reported that Heidil Teelan – described as Aurora's "police chief", had confirmed the incident.

It reported that Teelan declined to name the victim and her family for their protection, and that according to the child’s parents, the girl had experienced severe fever for days and was brought to the clinic in the town for medical attention last Friday.

“During that time, the attending clinic personnel and physician confirmed that the young patient had no more pulse and was clinically dead last Saturday morning about 9am,” Teelan said.

The child’s family apparently brought her home and prepared her for a funeral service the following day in the church, whereupon one of the mourners saw her head move.

However, a local website is now claiming that the child has passed away.

As yet there has been no statement from the victim's family.

BuzzFeed has reached out to the local police force in Aurora for an official statement but has not been able to get a response at the time of writing.
