Britain has been hit by high winds and rain that have disrupted transport, damaged buildings, and left thousands of homes without power.

At least 2,000 homes have no power supply and 23 flood warnings have been issued, the BBC reported.

The winds are currently battering the south of England and Wales. The Met Office expects the storm to clear into the North Sea, leading to sunshine and showers.
