Azealia Banks Is Playboy's New Cover Star And She Says She Hates "Fat White Americans"
In a wide-ranging interview she compared the media's treatment of her to its treatment of Lorde and spoke about race, sex and religion.
So here's Azealia Banks with a cat on her head.
You won't be surprised to hear the issue of race came up. She told the magazine:
I hate everything about this country. Like, I hate fat white Americans. All the people who are crunched into the middle of America, the real fat and meat of America, are these racist conservative white people who live on their farms. Those little teenage girls who work at Kmart and have a racist grandma—that's really America.
Picking up on many of the themes she discussed at length in this radio interview from December which brought her to tears, she talked about how black people in America had been ripped "from their land, from their customs, from their culture". She added, "There's still a piece of me that knows I'm not supposed to be speaking English, I'm not supposed to be worshipping Jesus Christ. All this shit is unnatural to me."
She also compared the media's treatment of her to that of Lorde, telling the magazine: "It's always about race. Lorde can run her mouth and talk shit about all these other bitches, but y'all aren't saying she's angry."
