13 Shows To Binge-Watch With The Slytherin In Your Life

Conquer some things vicariously.

1. Scandal

This show should straight-up just be renamed Slytherins. There are more of them congregated in this show than there are students in any given year at Hogwarts. It's Slytherin overload in the form of frothy, delicious drama.

The first four seasons are streaming on Netflix, with the most recent episodes available on Hulu.

2. Game Of Thrones

The entire premise of this show – who ends up on top, and what they might be willing to do to get there – is like catnip to a Slytherin. With so many different methods for ambition and sheer survival on display, there's something for all kinds of cunning folks.

The entire series is available for streaming on HBOGo and HBONow.

3. Empire

Look, some days you just need to bask in the sheer, leopard fedora-wearing glory of Cookie Lyons.

The entire series is streaming on Hulu Plus.

4. You're the Worst

This is a show about two charmingly noxious human beings trying to find a way to have a happy romantic relationship with each other. Being in Slytherin obviously doesn't mean you're a toxic person (that's an annoying myth) but there's something about this secretly deeply romantic show that will appeal to the Slytherin brand of loyalty.

The first season is streaming on Amazon Prime.

5. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

They're not the classiest of Slytherins, but this show is constantly pushing the boundaries of what human beings can get away with. It's a kind of outlandishness in pursuit that could be mighty cathartic to the Slytherin in your life.

The entire series is streaming on Hulu Plus.

6. Revenge

I mean. It's called Revenge. It's about one woman's dogged attempt at vengeance. It's spectacularly soapy. This is a show specifically designed to indulge our base-level Slytherin senses.

The entire season is streaming on Netflix.

7. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

The CW

This show's still in its first season, but it's almost earnest in its depiction of a woman whose life was so dissatisfying that she moved across the country to win back a long-lost ex-boyfriend and work some things out. This show is a dark, cringe-filled musical-infused delight. It's also a narrative that boils down to the dogged pursuit of happiness.

The most recent episodes are available on Hulu Plus.

8. Rick And Morty

Cartoon Network

This right here is a very ambitious show in and of itself. It's fresh, it's comedic – and it's pushing the boundaries of sci-fi on television.

The entire series is available to stream on Hulu Plus.

9. Top Chef

Top Chef is entirely about resourcefulness, ambition, and raw skill. It's also pretty ruthless. Also there are knives.

The entire series is available to stream on Hulu Plus.

10. UnREAL

Following the behind-the-scenes of a Bachelor proxy, this show revolves entirely around a group of people for whom manipulation is practically a calling. And it has consequences. Watching them grapple with that – and with who they want to be –is a pretty intense, fun, juicy ride.

The first season (and the only season so far) is available to stream on Hulu Plus.

11. Girls

You cannot tell me that Girls is not a Slytherin show. Look at these characters. Look at their actions. Look at the emotional milieu of it all. Pure, unadulterated Slyth, for better or for worse.

The entire series is streaming on HBOGo and HBONow.

12. American Horror Story

Like a cat, sometimes the Slytherin in your life just needs to indulge in some highly stylized murder.

The first four seasons are streaming on Netflix.

13. Gossip Girl

The CW

The glamorous, often tawdry antics of a bunch of overly wealthy teens. It's like if you moved the Slytherin common room to the Upper East Side. Just imagine what Blair Waldorf could do with actual magic.

The entire series is available to stream on Netflix.
