Charlie Hunnam Isn't Going To Be In "Pacific Rim 2" And We Must Grieve

    Pacific Rim 2 is gearing up to be fucking incredible, if only because John Boyega will be there and he'll be playing Idris Elba's son.

    And John Boyega is all you need. Anytime. Anywhere.

    But Pacific Rim fans 'round the world received some sad news this week: Charlie Hunnam will not be returning for the sequel.

    Hunnam spoke to Yahoo at San Diego Comic-Con, saying that it came down to a scheduling issue. “I was unavailable. They have a very definite schedule that they have to film because of the, you know, politics and business surrounding filmmaking. Sometimes non-creative decisions will dictate how something unfolds, which seems bass-ackwards in fact that we’re making art, or at least aspiring to make art. It ended up being, unfortunately, something that we couldn't remedy”

    He did, however, say he was psyched for the movie: "It seems like they're really aspiring to push this thing forward and do something original with the sequel."

    This, tragically, means that we will no longer be blessed with the presence of living golden retriever Raleigh Becket. And we must take the time to mourn that.
