The releasing of doves is a beautiful tradition from the Philippines where wedding couple releases a pair of doves (male and female) to symbolize harmony and peace. The cage of dove should be opened by the wedding couple by pulling the cord together to assure a happy home, good fortune, and ever- lasting love.

2) Log Cutting Ceremony, Germany

When a little girl is born in Germany, a number of trees are planted in her honour and when the couple took part in the wedding ceremony, where they cut a log in half symbolise to work together and face the obstacles that may come throughout their marriage.

3) Blackening, Scotland

Blackening in Scottish wedding tradition is becoming increasingly popular among the couples where both are taken out on the day before their wedding and put anything from liquid, flour, treacle to custard to make them dirty as possible before they are coated in feathers.

6) Wedding Veil: UK

It is unlucky for the groom to see the bride on the wedding day before the mother of the bride dressed up for the occasion. The wedding veil rises the beauty and charm as well as wards off evil spirits. Another reason is that during the times of arranged marriages the bride’s face would be covered until the groom had committed to the marriage.
