22 Recent Bollywood Remixes Ranked From Not So Good To Very Very Good

Hey, the age of remixes may not be THAT bad after all!

Admit it, you are wayyy past the point of even pretending to be surprised when another remix of a not-so-old song hits the radio or YouTube. Everyone, including music composers, is aware that the Golden Age of Bolly-Pop songs came to an end with the advent of the 2010s.

But weirdly enough, we have somehow made peace with the fact that 90s and 00s songs remain as bankable as ever. While most of these new renditions sound rather generic, some do manage to evoke nostalgia and novelty at the same time.

Here are some recent releases which have either hit the mark or unfortunately missed it by light years!

Ole Ole is the epitome of those funny songs that are played towards the end of a party, once everyone is tired of being pretentious. Ole Ole 2.0 , despite the presence of the same star, doesn't really feel the same.

This is a wee bit over-produced and misses the cheekiness of the original.

This Gujju classic has had quite a few renditions released in the last ten or so years, but this recent rendition, despite a resplendent Mouni Roy, does not really preserve the soul of the original.

I'll be honest, it's a catchy song. But just because the name is different does not change the fact that it is old wine that has been put inside a beer bottle.

The original banger from Janbaaz sounds cleaner and leaves an impression upon the first listen. The remix sounds ordinary in comparison, especially with the drum beats that are peppered throughout the song.

13. Lift Teri Bandh Hai by Sandeep Shirodkar.

This song isn't bad but if it comes on during any party, people usually collectively say "Just play the original na!". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

The original by Rouge and Dr. Zeus was way ahead of its time but this Badshah version is a bit crusty.

The original by Sunidhi Chauhan sounds so intense and intimidating at the same time, it became an instant classic upon its release. This one isn't bad, but it just sounds a tad bit tired.

I will give this a pass for being as sultry as the original. However, remixers, please hear me out — every rendition does not have to have the "middle-eastern vibe" going. It has become commonplace and makes it difficult for us to differentiate one song from another.

They turned the original into a good, dance-y, fun song but the generic-sounding female vocals do not really help it stand out against any other song being released these days.

Everyone was skeptical about a remix of the A.R. Rahman classic, but it turned out to have a sexy and lo-fi vibe, thereby doing justice to the original.

This one does not sound anything like the original. Hell, I would not even classify this as a remix. But you know that it is technically a remix / rendition. The point is that this song is fresh AF and a cheeky favourite among youngsters.
