Eid Al-Adha, the second Eid in the Muslim calendar year, commemorates the sacrifice of Abraham and is celebrated with prayer and meat shared with the poor and family. #BlackoutEid was started by Aamina Mohamed, who tweets under @krennylavitz. Mohamed told BuzzFeed she "wanted to see how other Black Muslims celebrated Eid" and that it was inspired by #BlackMuslimRamadan. It's also an extension of #BlackOutDay.
