Including a real-life BBC Earth experience, a beer festival in Wandsworth, and perhaps the best niche London museum we've seen so far.
One thing I've been a little surprised to learn about London is that actually, it's weirdly tricky to find a great roast (I've gotten all too used to limp Yorkshire puddings, mealy roasties, bone-dry beef, and runny gravy). So when a true find, like the one I've had at The Farrier in Camden, comes along, I'm tempted to stick with it. Still, I've accepted my role, and have visited about eight spots so far.
Brown's massive, crisp-and-fluffy Yorkies, perfectly-crunchy spuds, rich gravy, and tender beef has finally given my previous fave a run for its money. Desserts are delicious too – try the moreish rhubarb crumble, the decadent brownie, or some salted caramel profiteroles, and don't skip their beautifully-balanced cocktails either.
Price: £20.95 for a beef roast dinner.
Location: A few spots – we went to their West India Quay branch.
Hours: 9 AM-12 AM Friday and Saturday, 9 AM-10:30 AM Sunday.
The bar launched a weekly comedy night about two months ago, and line-ups have been impressive so far: think Ben Norris of Buzzcocks fame and, this week, Britain's Got Talent's Stefano Polini will perform among other fan-faves. The bar also provides incredible food like tasty bao, perfect-looking fish and chips, and yes, even a me-approved roast. Booze, food, and belly laughs – what's not to love?!
Price: £12.50.
Location: 181 Clarence Rd, Lower Clapton, London E5 8EE.
Comedy show times: 8 PM - 10:15 PM, Saturday.
