If you've been on the internet for a while now, you've probably seen a couple of *deeply* uncomfortable front-facing cartoon images. I love how unfamiliar it makes well-known animated characters look — here's a list of my fave examples!
1.
I think about front-facing Mordecai and Rigby from Regular Show all the time:
For reference, here's how they usually look:

2.
This still of Roger from American Dad lives rent-free in my head:
3.
I can't believe *this* was the photo that Speckle from Tuca and Bertie chose to frame:
4.
This pic of Lenny from The Simpsons is absolutely haunting:
Cleanse your eyes and mind with a video of his regular face:
Fox
5.
And Moe isn't looking too hot either:
His usual face looks pretty great now, right?
Fox / Via youtube.com
In fact, almost every Simpsons character has been done dirty by the animators:
6.
You'll never look at Phineas and Ferb the same away again after seeing them nose-on:
The relief of seeing them drawn as they should be is so sweet after that:
Disney Channel
7.
If I ever seem distracted, there's a 90% chance that I'm thinking about forward-facing Pearl from Spongebob Squarepants :
Here's the only way she would be allowed to look if we lived in a just universe:

8.
Lois from Family Guy *knew* that her full face was news-worthy:
Even if her regular face is much more stunning:
Fox / Via youtube.com
9.
Though TBH, she was bested by Brian:
Here's some proof that he should only be shown with his nose to the side:
Fox / Via youtube.com
I'm honestly glad that we usually get to see more of his magnificent chin:
Fox / Via youtube.com
11.
I truly think that Fry's nose is more offensive than this outfit in this frame from Futurama :
Especially when we consider how cute it's meant to look:
Fox / Via youtube.com
12.
Respectfully, this is NOT the look for Pearl from Steven Universe :
I mean, why would anyone tamper with this gorgeous creation?
Cartoon Network / Via youtube.com
13.
I think the bravest thing that Courage the Cowardly Dog ever did was show himself front-on:
I mean, imagine looking at his regular form and thinking 'yes, this needs to be more unsettling':
Cartoon Network / Via youtube.com
14.
I just want you to think about the fact that this is what Olive looks at before she kisses Popeye:
To be fair though, she probably stays with him for his normal rugged looks:
CBS / Via youtube.com
15.
This image of Gumball from The Amazing World of Gumball completely changed my worldview:
I mean, those cheeks are made to be seen from the side:
Cartoon Network / Via youtube.com
16.
I demand a support group for people who have seen this pic of Beavis and Butt-Head :
But failing that, you can always watch this video that shows them as they're meant to be:
MTV / Via youtube.com
17.
The animators of Pinky and the Brain must have been having a tough day when they showed The Brain front-on:
You can soothe your *own* brain by looking at his usual form:
Kids' WB / Via youtube.com
18.
This image of Fred Flintstone shaving makes me glad they didn't have bathroom mirrors in Stone Age times:
I mean, why would you yabba-dabba-do that to him?
ABC / Via youtube.com
19.
And last but not least, Gretchen from Recess did absolutely nothing to deserve this angle:
She was meant for this three-quarter head turn IMO:
ABC / Via youtube.com
