The First Look At Jared Leto As The Joker Is Insanely Intense

Nightmares for days.

On Friday, Suicide Squad director David Ayer tweeted out a first look at Jared Leto as the Joker. It is a lot.

The Suicide Squad wishes you a Happy Anniversary Mr. J! #Joker75 #SuicideSquad @WarnerBrosEnt @DCComics

The character still has his traditional pale skin, rictus grin, green hair, and purple garments, but Ayer and Leto have given him a terrifying tattoo-punk makeover.

Instead of a surgically altered smile like Jack Nicholson or Heath Ledger's Joker, Leto's grin is embellished with a set of oversize silver fillings that are somehow just as scary.

The "Damaged" tattoo on his forehead also kind of tells you everything you need to know about the character.

And the rest of Leto's body is riddled with creepy Joker-themed tattoos.

With this much body ink, it seems likely that Leto won't be wearing much by way of clothing for this movie.

For weeks, Leto has been teasing his transformation into the character, which included cutting his hair and dyeing his eyebrows.
