The Power Rangers Movie Is Almost 20 Years Old

And other things you probably didn't know about Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. (Okay, maybe you do. I don't know you. I don't know what you're about.)

2. Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam, The Black Ranger) did all his own stunts in the movie.

The stuntman for Bosch was injured and was unable to work on the film, so Johnny ended up doing all of his own stunts including the morphed fight scenes.

4. David Yost (Billy, The Blue Ranger) asked not to wear Billy’s glasses in the movie.

He claimed the fake lenses were messing with his eyesight. They ended up getting rid of the glasses in the show later on. It's okay, Billy, we think you're beautiful no matter what they say. Words can't bring you down.

8. Johnny Yong Bosch improvised the line expressing disappointment to Dulcea (Gabrielle Fitzpatrick) that his new power is a frog.

He said at 2007 Power Morphicon he told the director he thought it was a lame choice for his character.

9. Paul Freeman improvised the line “The Brady Bunch reunion” when he tells Zordon what he's missed while trapped in the egg.

"Oh, the things that I have missed: the Black Plague, the Spanish Inquisition, the Brady Bunch Reunion." Sounds like somebody has a serious case of FOMO.

10. Catherine Sutherland auditioned for Dulcea, but was turned down because she was too young.

In Season 3 of the TV show she was cast as the new Pink Ranger who took over when Amy Jo Johnson left the show. (p.s. YOU'LL NEVER LOVE HIM LIKE KIMBERLY LOVED HIM.)

11. The original script for the the Rangers vs the Tengus fight was pretty violent.

Saban Entertainment / Via

It was toned down because Fox and Saban wanted to avoid complaints from parents who were upset about the violence in the TV series.

12. This movie is the first time blood has been drawn on Power Rangers.

A stone gargoyle slashes at Jason David Frank (Tommy, The White Ranger) and cuts through his outfit. You can see two red bloody cuts on his chest.

14. Production got clever when it came to cutting costs.

The producers avoided paying for extras in the end fireworks scene by putting an advertisement in a Sydney newspaper saying "come and see the fireworks show with the Power Rangers at Darling Harbour".

18. The soundtrack to the movie included songs from The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Devo, Snap, Van Halen and They Might Be Giants.

Uh-oh, we're in trouble. Something's come along and it burst our bubble, yeah, yeah.

19. The movie received a 39% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

It is now currently sitting at 50% for all critics on the Tomatometer. I think we can all agree the haters are sad, lonely people who don't enjoy things like chocolate, hugs and free money.
