Kris Bryant Sit's Out Another Game After Being Hit In The Head With A 96 Mph Fastball

Kris Bryant is sitting out the third game in a row and all Cubs fans are just praying that he is alright.

On Sunday against the Rockies, Kris Bryant took a 96 mph fastball to the head Kris Bryant stayed on his feet but appeared very shaken up. Soon after Bryant was hit Joe Maddon was by his side, making sure he was alright. Two of the Cubs batting coaches, Chili Davis and Andy Haines were both thrown out of the game, because of their reactions to the hit, Andy Haines even threw coffee. Luckily, Bryant passed all the concussion tests and was left with just a small laceration above his left eye. To all the Cubs fans, this was a sigh of relief, but the stud third baseman has still not returned to the field. Monday was a day off the cubs, and Bryant has sat out of both of the two games (of a two-game series) against the Indians and is set to sit out of the first of the Milwaukie series.

Though we are glad that Maddon is giving Bryant time to recover from the scary event he encountered on Sunday, this leaves Cubs fans everywhere just what is going on with Bryant, are they just giving him extra time to recover before he returns to the field? is he having trouble mentally? is the laceration above his left eye worse than we thought? or is something else going on that we just don’t know about?. Well, despite these illogical worries all of us have, Joe Maddon has commented on Bryant’s condition multiple times, and is giving us lots of hope on a happy return quoted saying “I really anticipate good soon, If anything went the other way, I’d be really surprised.” They are still awaiting Bryant to take a visit with the Cubs team doctors before hopefully (crosses fingers) starting the game on Friday. In the end, honestly, I’m glad Maddon and Bryant are both allowing Bryant to take his time on his recovery, and not rushing him back to soon. But I think we all hope he’s all well, and that we will be able to see Bryant’s smile back on the field soon.
