26 Things That'll Help Make Your Next Flight A Little Bit Better

You can't control if your flight is delayed, but you *can* control how you feel on the flight.

    1. A book of crossword puzzles on the easy side because it's not fun than being stuck 10,000 feet up in the air with no wifi trying to figure out what 11 across is.

    2. A face mask collection to turn your flight into a mini spa. Okay, it might not actually feel like a mini spa with that baby crying in the background, but at least your skin will look great when you get to your destination.

    3. A seatback organizer that keeps all your in-flight essentials (i.e. phone, e-reader, magazines, etc.) in the pocket so you don't have to dig around in your bag on the floor throughout the flight.

    4. A travel toothbrush to have on hand when you're in a brush and need a minute to freshen up.

    5. An electronics organizer with spots for all your cords, chargers and devices, so when you think you may have left your iPad at home and momentarily go into a panic, you can grab this and see that it's in the exact spot you put it in.

    6. A collapsible silicone water bottle to fill after you get through security. Bonus: it won't take up too much oh-so-precious space in your carry-on.

    7. A travel passport wallet where you can put your boarding pass, passport, and license so everything is easily accessible when you get to the front of the TSA line. You won't look like a noob rummaging through you bag trying to find your id.

    8. A compact lightweight travel blanket that won't take up your whole carry-on bag but *WILL* keep you warm when it's -7 degrees on your flight.

    9. A transparent tote you can use as a carry-on when you're going on a beach vacation and don't want to 1) squish your hat into your suitcase and pray that it still holds up when you get to your destination or 2) be THAT person who wears their hat the whole flight. This tote will let you bring that sunhat in the most convenient way possible.

    10. A pack of silicone earplugs to reduce the pressure in your ears because sometimes you can't avoid getting an ~earful~ when the plane is taking off (and from the woman sitting next to you).

    11. Some compression socks so your feet and legs don't swell up as much as Violet Beauregarde did in Willy Wonka's factory.

    12. A pack of Nite Nite or Wake Up patches that have a variety of vitamins and other ingredients to either make you sleepy or wake you up, so you can try and combat jet leg before it really hits.

    13. A portable charger with more than 18,000 five-star reviews because everyone knows that The Bad Place is actually being stuck on a flight with a dead phone and a toddler kicking the back of your seat.

    14. A foot hammock made out of memory foam because we can't all afford to fly first class, but this little gadget can make you feel like it (even if it doesn't come with free champagne).

    15. A roll-up chess/checkers game for when you want to do something on your flight that's a little ~out of the box~.

    16. A Kindle Paperwhite you can fill with as many books as you want but without weighing down your carry-on. That way, no matter what mood you're in on the flight, you'll have a book to match it. Rory Gilmore is shaking rn!!!

    17. A pair of slip-on sneakers that are not only easy to take on and off in the TSA line, but *also* if you're on a long flight and need a little bit of a break.

    18. A pair of pants that look super nice but are made out of an incredibly soft, stretchy material so you feel like you're wearing pajamas, without, you know, actually wearing pajamas.

    19. A travel pillow that will make falling asleep a breeze — the next thing you know, you'll be at your destination.

    20. An adult coloring book you can use to relieve your frustration when the pilot comes on the speaker to say you'll be delayed even longer because of "weather",

    21. A travel knitting bag for when you're in a ~stitch~ and don't want to leave your project at home. Put it in the bag and own your grandma status.

    22. A rosewater facial spray you can spritz on your face for an instant pick-me-up when the confined air space brings you down.

    23. A travel set of disinfecting wipes because it actually grosses me out to even think about all the germs that are on a seat. Using one of these will not only help prevent you from picking up some sort of sickness, but also ease your mind.

    24. A carry-on duffel bag with a zippered compartment for your shoes because packing your shoes and clothes together is all sorts of ewww.

    25. A pair of knit socks to keep your feet warm on a long flight because no matter what the weather is outside, airplanes always think you need to feel like you're in a department store in the middle of summer.

    26. A digital luggage scale so you'll arrive at the airport already knowing that your luggage is 49.5 pounds and you won't have to worry about paying an overweight fee. Overpacking is a skill that I am semi-proud to have.

When the flight attendant makes an announcement that the everyone has boarded the plane, and there's no one sitting next to you:
