    1. A rechargeable lighter so anyone (*cough, cough* me) who struggles to get a lighter to work can light candles in seconds with a simple switch.

Model holding the lighter in rose gold about to light a candle
    The Grommet

This product is made by The USB Lighter Company, which designed the lighter to be able to last forever so it would be a more sustainable solution. You can get up to 300 lights per charge, and the lighter is gas appliance safe.

Promising review: "We use the lighters mainly for candles and have always bought new ones when the lighter fluid runs out. I know they’re refillable but we don’t keep the fluid around so this is really a novel idea. I love the idea that this can be charged for future use with the charging cord provided. There is no flame so the attraction to children is not there. It does a great job — you just have to hold it near the wick a few seconds longer. Really great item!!!" —Maggie

Get it from The Grommet for $30 (available in four colors).

    2. SleepPhones designed to make it comfortable to listen to music (or even just white noise) while you sleep, which is great if you sleep in the same room as a snorer.

Model wearing the SleepPhones while in bed
    The Grommet

Promising review: "I don't sleep well. My husband sleeps beautifully but wakes easily. I use a guided imagery app to "talk me back to sleep" but, invariably, my app wakes him up. I bought this speaker/headband combo and the problem is solved! I listen to my app. He sleeps. I highly recommended it." —Kathy

Get it from The Grommet for $99.95 (available in black and grey) or check out a similar also loved style from Amazon for $17.49 (available in two styles).

It allows me to play movies with surround sound without any cables. Also, in my opinion, the Fire TV Stick has a much better user interface than the Roku and traditional smart TVs. It's a plus that Alexa and Prime are integrated into it so I can easily purchase apps/movies/etc. right from my TV." —Jordan Hollis

    5. A waterproof Kindle that'll basically revolutionize the way you read. Reading on the go? Yep! On vacation? So easy! In the water!?! Yes!

Abby Kass / Via BuzzFeed, Amazon

I've been an avid Kindle user for the past five years, but when I saw this version, I knew it was time to upgrade. The main selling point is the fact that this one is waterproof. So waterproof, in fact, that it can be in up to 2 meters of fresh water for more than 60 minutes. Plus, it's lighter, has more storage, and the battery lasts for WEEKS. I took this on vacation with me and was so impressed. I was able to sit on the ledge in the pool and read without worrying about getting the device wet. And I even put it in the water to test, and it still works perfectly. Plus, I used it every day and didn't have to charge it the whole time I was on the trip. That gets a big gold star in my book.

Promising review: "I first purchased a set of these a couple of years ago for myself (TX) and my brother (GA). I recently purchased another for my 'bug out' location. Although we'd used it daily before, during these stressful times, it is calming to see the light and know you're on someone's mind. 8. A portable and waterproof Bluetooth speaker to turn your shower time into concert time without worrying that you'll ruin your phone.

The small square speaker with blue around the outside splashing into water
    Amazon

This has a 10-hour battery life and pairs with all Bluetooth devices. I have a similar one I took on a camping trip with friends, and it was THE BEST. We listened to music on a boat, in the water, and didn't have to worry about ruining our phones.

Promising review: "Where has this been all my life?!?! Seriously, I love this powerhouse portable speaker. I was concerned because it was super reasonable (like cheap) in price that it would be cheap, and I'd end up throwing it into the bathroom or something just for an extra speaker and then having to order a better-quality (more expensive) speaker. I was so wrong! This thing is awesome. I will likely order several more and give them as gifts!" —Mandie

Get it from Amazon for $24.99 (available in blue, green, and black)

    9. A smart plug that works with an Amazon device with Alexa so you can use your voice to turn off the lights because you don't need to exert the energy to get up to do that.

A white rectangle plug in a wall outlet
    Amazon

Promising review: "I was sick and tired of my old TP-link plug being "unresponsive" more often than not, so I sprung for the pricier Amazon smartplug. I was sure that I'd be wasting my evening trying to connect it as I did with my old one. I plugged the unit in, and before I could even open the Alexa App, I got a notification on my Fire tablet that the plug was set up and ready to use! Yes, you read correctly: It. Set. Itself. Up. This is how home automation should work. All I had to do was rename it. Thank you, Amazon!" —MacGuyver

Get it from Amazon for $24.99.

Promising review: "This six-port USB charger works as advertised. I can't believe I didn't order one of these a long time ago. It makes life so much easier My wife and I were always competing for outlets around our bedroom to charge all of our devices (phone, Bluetooth headsets, fitness watches, tablets, etc.). I have also started traveling with this, as hotel rooms don't always have access to the needed outlets. I highly recommend this device." —Walty002

She can't wait for any opportunity to wear them whether it's working out in the yard, doing things around the house, or just taking a walk. She convinced me I needed to get a pair for myself so I did. Gone are the days of corded earphones getting pulled out while mowing the yard, or doing other projects around the house. They sound awesome and pair easily with any phone — don't hesitate another day get yourself a pair, you wish you had done it sooner." —Mark G.

Get them from Raycon for $119.99 (available in six colors).

The litter box with a light grey bottom and purple top in a room with a cat coming out of it
    Amazon

Promising review: "This is probably some of the best money I've ever spent in my whole life. Is this outrageously expensive compared to your classic plastic tray? Yes. Does it lock you into using their proprietary litter trays? Yes. But...does it work? YES. There is ZERO odor. I mean ZERO. Like I can put my head inside the small storage area we keep it in, and if you were wearing a blindfold you'd never know the box is in there. Everybody in my house is so happy! Cat gets an always-clean box to do her business, we don't ever deal with cat box smell, and my spouse loves the cleanliness of this box versus the traditional one. I always hate when I get that new pair of earbuds+mic and within a day, I can tell that the connection is shoddy and the wiring won't last. These headphones are not only not those headphones, they're downright good. And at ten dollars, I ordered two more pairs within a week of receiving the first. The audio adapter with a screen and buttons to control the station and volume plugged into a car
    Amazon

Promising review: "My car, a 2005 Taurus SEL does not have an aux input. A normal head unit is a pain (and expensive) to install because the car has climate control. So, when I saw this for just over $20, I thought I would give it a try. So far, between my wife and I, we have taken trips in the car over 100 miles, and have been able to keep the radio on the same station the entire time... WITHOUT ANY STATIC!!! This thing is amazing for the price! It is easily worth $50! Besides the music working great, the hands-free calling is great too! If my wife is driving and wants to send me a text, she uses the google assistant to send me text messages hands-free! As soon as the text is sent, or a call is finished, the music automatically resumes. I cannot stress enough how awesome this device is!" —Always_Having_Fun

The rectangle photo frame in black
    Amazon

Plus, it has built-in speakers, a clock and calendar function, and a remote control.

Promising review: "My wife was always complaining that we have thousands of digital pictures, but we never print any of them out and it's a waste. I got this for her for Christmas along with a 32GB SDHC card. I spent several hours on Christmas Eve putting nearly a thousand pictures on the card (which is about 10% of its capacity). She absolutely loves it, and now we look at the pictures all the time. It's nice to watch the different stages of your life cycle before your eyes (birthdays, pets, events, vacations, oversea trips, etc.). Next, I am going to start scanning in some of the older pictures. I figure I can fit about another 9,000 pictures on the card." —Gavaronee

Get it from Amazon for $59.99.

    23. A Fitbit that tracks your heart rate and sleep patterns to help you maximize your workouts. You can also receive calls, texts, and calendar notifications on it.

Model wearing the Fitbit that looks like a bracelet on their wrist in purple
    Amazon

Promising review: "I wanted something to track my walking steps and distance and also to give me an idea of my sleep patterns. The Charge 2 seemed the best choice and is doing a great job. It was super easy to set up on my iPhone, but I do wish it integrated with the Health app already on the phone. Unlike the Health app, it counts hills climbed as stairs making that info more accurate. Since I tend to keep my phone on silent, the call and text notifications are helpful. Wearing the Charge 2 is comfortable even while sleeping. But I do try to move it higher up on my wrist periodically so it isn't constantly in the same spot." —GJV

Get it from Amazon for $135.55 (available in small and large and in six colors).

    24. A five-port car charger so you never have to fight over who gets to charge their phone while on the road — now you all can.

    The Grommet

Promising review: "No more taking turns to charge our cell phones or devices in the car! I'm loving our new charger with 5 USB ports. The bright orange color stands out in the car when it is dark, and the cord is long so anyone in the back seat can easily charge too." —Janice

Get it from The Grommet for $15.97 (originally $24.95) or Amazon for $19.09+ (available in four colors).

    25. A wireless smart home camera you set up to make sure your home (and pets!) stay safe.

Closeup of the square wireless camera
    Amazon

Promising review: "I initially bought one camera, tried it out for a week, and fell in love. I ended up buying two more cameras for my house shortly after. Wyze Cam is setting a new standard for what to expect in a wifi camera. Most companies want to charge you for cloud storage, but Wyze Cam doesn't. With Wyze Cam, you get all the bells and whistles without breaking the bank. It has motion detection, sound detection, detection zones, night vision, smoke alarm detection, 14 days cloud storage, SD slot, and two-way audio! Best of all it's all free, no subscription required!" —Jason Sanchez

Get it from Amazon for $25.98+ (available in five varities).

    26. A set of cable clips to organize all your cords and keep them exactly where you want them.

Close up of the clip sitting on a table holding a white cord
    Amazon

Promising review: "These cable clips are exactly what I need. What I like the best about them now is what caused me to almost not purchase them. They have a double-backed tape on them. You pull off the tape cover and stick them permanently where you want them. Initially, I did not think I'd like that, BUT I love it. These do not move. They hold the cable securely. I even have one stuck to the side of my office PC with a micro-USB cord through it so I can charge my tablet on top of the PC and never have to search for the cord or make sure it is the right one. Since the cable clip is stuck to the side of the PC, it is always there. Cool!!! I highly recommend these." —RCS

Get a six pack from Amazon for $6.97.

    27. A Google Wi-Fi system that'll extend the coverage throughout your whole house so you can watch Netflix in every room, no problem.

The small white circular system sitting on a shelf
    Amazon

Promising review: "This product is amazing! I was frequently losing signal in my bedroom (the original modem/router was a couple of rooms away). When I wasn't losing signal, I had 2-3Mbs download and 1-1.5Mbs upload speeds with 1-2 bar connection strength. Now, I have a full connection strength throughout my entire 2000 square foot house with download speeds of 75-95 Mbs and upload speeds of 10-12 Mbs. These are very close to what I would have if I was physically wired to the modem. I even have 3 bar strength and fast speeds when on my patio (on the opposite side of the house from the modem). I'm so impressed! It took less than 30 minutes to set up (from when I started to open the box to having the entire mesh network running). I was hesitant to purchase because of the cost, but this will save me so much time and frustration, I shouldn't have waited. Websites now load almost immediately!" —Wendy

Get it from Amazon for $99.

    28. And a spinning heart messenger where you can send notes through an app to the box and your loved one will see the heart spinning and open it up to read the sweet message, keeping you close even if you're really far away.

    Uncommon Goods

Promising review: "This product is absolutely perfect for my situation. The messages are sent through an app on your phone and are instantly sent to the box, and you can also schedule a time when you want a message to be delivered. One of the cool aspects is that there are stickers and gifs that you can also send through the app. Overall, it was an amazing gift and definitely worth the money."—GC
