The bottles make it very easy to get under your weave, and as someone in the army, the travel kit is the best. After being out in the field all day, I feel like my scalp is killing me, so I wash it and put in the leave-in conditioner. It makes me feel brand new" —Fabienne B.

I have been suggesting it to some of my clients. It's great for all types of hair, but it works especially well for natural hair. Also, it works well for all sorts of hair damage." —dcdaigle

    9. A Living Proof dry shampoo perfect for those days when your hair needs a refresh but you just don't feel like washing it. It works hard to remove the dirt, oil (and even sweat) from your scalp, leaving you with fresh hair in a matter of minutes.

Promising review: "Let me start prefacing that I am a professional hairstylist, and I adore this stuff! It smells amazing and has a great gender-neutral cleanly scent while also delivering a superior dry shampoo. It is a little 'drier' than most dry shampoos, which helps with absorbing excess oil, WITHOUT creating extremely visible residue/powder. It also doubles to give great volume as a daily styling product, and very light moveable hold along with some very slight texture. That is why I give it 5 stars on performance and smell ALONE." —ChadEverett

Get it from Sephora for $14+ (available in three sizes).

    10. Fanola No Yellow shampoo meant to help reduce any brassiness with a violet pigment that removes the yellow hues that comes peaking through blonde and grey hair. This means you can go even longer without a return trip to the salon. Do you hear that? I think that's your wallet thanking you.

three photos of reviewer hair showing the loss of brassiness from left to right

Just be careful when you use this product. It should only be used once a week (or when yellow becomes visible) and applied to damp or dry hair for one to three minutes before rinsing it out (any longer and your hair may turn a lavender shade). Oh, and you should wear gloves to prevent staining on your hands like the reviewer mentions below!

Promising review: There is nothing about this product that I don’t like. Obviously, it will stain your hands a little, but it comes off, it does dry your hair if you don’t condition after, but so does the other toning shampoos, and they don’t do nearly as well as this one. Being a hairstylist myself, I am extremely impressed with this shampoo. I recommend this to all of my blonde clients. I wish we had it in our shop, I’d sell the crap out of it. Not even actual toners work this well. Some people don’t like the smell, but I love it." —Jasmine Sky

Get it from Amazon for $12.99.

    11. Or a B Uniq Purple Hair Mask, which is similar to the shampoo, but takes it a step farther by not only brightening the tone of your blonde hair between salon visits but also working as a deep conditioner to give your hair some extra moisture (and shine), which it might especially need because bleaching can be so harsh on your locks.

Reviewer's before-and-after with brassy, yellow curls and then platinum blonde curls

Promising review: "I was a hairdresser for 17 years. I've been every color, and I have grown my hair out long. The ends of my hair had some old blonde growing out. My midshaft was semi-permanent brown (lv 5) to cover grey. My roots were 3 inches of natural with 35% grey. I did a full head highlights more than a week ago. The middle that had the color came up gold. Roots were lighter and ends were lighter. I also have bad well water that turns my shower orange. I applied this product to the midshaft for ten mins, then went back and did my roots and ends for another 10 (for even toning). I'm very impressed for the first time used. It's a great conditioner too. I have found with other 'purple shampoos' my hair gets super dry. I look forward to the second use." —Billie

Get it from Amazon for $24.95.

    12. Ouai Wave Spray or in other words, your new go-to for when you want to give your hair a boost of texture and body and create effortless beach waves (sans the sun, salt, and sand, of course). It has a weightless formula made with rice protein to give your hair a relaxed yet put-together look in only a few spritzes on damp or dry hair.

Plus, you can spray it on your roots for some extra volume.

Promising review: "The wave spray helps build texture without feeling crunchy. The smell is amazing!!! Everyone that smells it loves it. Jen Atkins is the creator of Ouai and the whole line is fabulous. I am a hairstylist and know a great quality product when I use it, and this line is phenomenal. If you want a nice beachy wave this is the product for you." —Bianca1218

Get it from Sephora for $26 (also available in a mini size).

It feels AMAZING, leaves my scalp squeaky clean, and allows me to condition 99% of the time without shampooing. I haven’t used a lathering shampoo in months and my hair and scalp have never looked better. I’m also a hairstylist of 10 years and recommend this to almost everyone that sits in my chair." —ryanstyles

Plus, if your hair needs a little extra moisture, you can add a few drops into your conditioner.

Promising review: "I have normal to oily hair. I have to wash it about every other day. So if a product is too heavy, I can't bear to use it for long. But as a hairstylist, I need that perfectly healthy glossy look and just a drop of this works wonders without drowning my hair in oil. I would definitely recommend this to others." —Slavago2

Get it from Sephora for $40 (also available in a mini size).

    16. A Celeb Luxury color-depositing shampoo great for anyone with already-bleached hair that has been itching to switch up their do and try something new. This shampoo not only cleans hair but leaves it with a new ~hue~.

A reviewer with blonde hair at first, then hair that turned pastel pink after using the shampoo

Promising review: "As a former hairstylist, I’m one of the most horribly picky people when it comes to hair color. I don’t like change. I’m 36 and have had alternative colored hair since I was 15. I’ve been loyal to one single brand, until now. My usual pink color was out of stock, so I decided to give this a try. Mind you, I still bleached first; since this is a deposit-only wash, it’ll only leave a vibrant color if you already have extremely light hair or lift it beforehand. I’m shocked, to say the least! No more messing with color and mixing bowls over a sink! I just wash with my usual shampoo, then use a squeeze of this. I let it sit for a couple of minutes, then rinse and seal it in with a color-preserving conditioner! It’s literally just as bright as my former color! I also tried the silver, but I used it after a good toner and only a VERY little of it! All in all, I’m so happy this product exists and would highly recommend it!!" —Dancing Vulpine

Get it from Amazon for $35 (available in three styles and 25 colors).

    17. Melanin Haircare softening leave-in conditioner, a versatile product you can actually use so many ways because it's filled with ingredients to moisturize natural hair (including 4C), including aloe vera, argan oil, jojoba oil, and more.

BTW — Melanin Haircare is a Black-owned brand!

Promising review: "I'm completely in love with this product. I’m a natural hairstylist, so I’ve used a lot of products over the last 20 years. In addition to her fabulous ingredients and that there are no PEG chemicals and the like, this product practically melted the tangles away. I’ve already recommended this to my clients." —Carina C.

    18. Olaplex No. 3 hair perfector, which is worth the investment (especially for anyone with broken, damaged hair) because it works to repair your hair from within by repairing the bonds, leaving it looking and feeling healthier than ever before.

Promising review: "I'm gonna start by saying I'm a hairstylist and have been using Olaplex since the beginning. It's the one and only bond rebuilder on the market. Any other product claiming the same or better is not true at all. Olaplex is an active ingredient Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate, which is patented by the company. This ingredient goes into the cortex of your hair and fusing together the strands. This is a diluted at-home conditioning treatment that helps keep your hair strong after salon visits or between them to get your desired result with relatively little damage." —brandyndoeshair

Get it from Sephora or Amazon for $28.

Promising review: "Not only does this glass bottle look nice on your vanity or shelf, but it also smells AMAZING! I put it in my hair while damp right out of the shower and blow-dry it, and my hair stays so glossy! I am a professional hairstylist, my mom got this for my sister for Christmas. I loved the smell so much, I had to have it! Then was surprised by how great it worked! Take it from a hairstylist — this is professional-grade! It's a very nice serum! I'm impressed, and it's a good price!" —Allina

Get it from Amazon for $11.99.

    20. An Olivia Garden NanoThermic round hairbrush crafted with soft-tip bristle design, a snag-free handle, and extra-large vents that'll ~blow~ your mind as you use it to give yourself a beautiful at-home blowout.

three gold round hairbrushes in different sizes
    Olivia Garden / Via

Promising review: "These are by far my favorite brand and roll brushes I have ever had. They work great. You shouldn't have any issues if you know how to use them correctly and take care of them properly. I see a lot of negative reviews about melting and all of that, but I'm telling you, if you know how to use a blow dryer and a round brush together properly, you won't have any issues and you will fall in love with these. Promising review: "As a stylist, I have had my hands in many different shampoos. This one is AMAZING!!! It makes my hair and my clients' hair feel airy, light, and super conditioned, even though it's just a shampoo. I even feel like my scalp is cleaner longer, which I love!!! The fact that it travels well is just a massive bonus!!!" —Nikki D.

Get it from Credo for Credo or OWA Haircare for $29 (also available in mini size).

    22. An ArtNaturals argan oil hair mask to deep-condition your hair and give you hair that can pass off as Disney Princess hair. Five-year-old you would be so happy you finally achieved that dream.

Promising review: "Okay, so I'm a student at Aveda Insitute, and I'm so an Amazon reviewer, so here is my review of this product. My hair was recently dark purple. I had stripped that color out of my very fine usually blonde hair, which every hairdresser knows would damage my very fine hair significantly. I put this mask in my hair as directly on the back and could fill the huge difference in my hair immediately! I recommend this product highly for people with damaged or even dry hair! I recommend using this product only like twice a week. You don't wanna put to much protein and over condition your hair. It will make it greasy. Use like every other time you wash and when your hair feels repair decrease use. It's an awesome product that I will be purchasing again." —Hannah

Get it from Amazon for $12.95.

You spray this on your hair before you get it wet, and the combination of coconut oil, cysteine, keratin, avocado oil, aloe extract, panthenol, and niacin worth together to protect your hair when it needs it most.

Promising review: "I thought this was very interesting. Being a hairdresser, I'm always open to trying new things. And I must say, this is good stuff! It smells great. It doesn't actually make your hair soft, but I also have thick curly hair. BUT it does make it less tangly, which is very hard to do with my hair!! The one and only con I have is that it doesn't specify if you should saturate or not." —Ashweexxx

Get it from Sephora for $29.

    24. Hairstory hair balm, a must-have for anyone who wants a super simple way to style their hair. Just add a few pumps to damp hair, and move on with your day. It will help define curls, add moisture, and reduce frizz — no styling needed!

It has three heat and two-speed settings and a cooling button to lock in your style.

Promising review: "I am a retired hairstylist and just started to embrace my natural curl. This is hands-down the best blow-dryer for curly hair. My hair is very baby fine and thin. Most diffusers blow my hair all over my head which defeats the purpose of diffusing. This keeps the hair in place, it dries quickly and it's very easy to hold on to. I love it!!" —Dorita A Batman

Get it from Amazon for $34.97.
