A group of friends went on safari in Zimbabwe and stumbled upon an SD card that had somehow survived out in the middle of nowhere for four years.
You may recall that this kind of chance discovery has happened before, when Todd Bieber (no relation to THE Biebs) found a film roll in an NYC blizzard in 2011.
Todd got the photos developed, and they were actually super good! He reached out through YouTube to discover the photographer, and the video got almost 2 million views.
The internet being the internet cracked the case, and Todd returned the photos to their owner in Paris. Romantic and inspiring!

The guy who found the SD card tried to do some detective work. After a failed reverse image search, and some deblur software that led nowhere, it was clear that the only way to solve the case was to get the internet on it.
