Pickle Juice Valentyna Yeltsova / Getty Images As gross as it sounds, pickle juice actually has salt, which brings electrolytes to your system if you drink it! So, drink up? 2. Rubbing lemons in your armpits! Nathamag11 / Getty Images People in Puerto Rico seem to believe that if you rub a slice of lemon in your armpit, before you drink, you can counter the dehydration that causes a hangover headache! Whether it's an urban legend or something that actually works is really up to your attempt. 3. Hair of the Dog Igorr1 / Getty Images Not what the name suggests! However, the most common remedy for a hangover is to have a drink the morning after. Poison is its own antidote, it seems. In Denmark, they specifically recommend a beer as reparation for all the alcohol the night before. Fun! 4. Umeboshi Plums Sergio Amiti / Getty Images The Japanese have a preserved fruit called Ume, which is something like a plum or an apricot. It's super sour when pickled, and apparently, a bite of the salty sourness of the Umeboshi, the morning of the hangover can really alleviate the depleted electrolytes. Pucker up! 5. Full English Breakfast Manyakotic / Getty Images Food is the best cure, no contest. And a Full English breakfast, which has bacon, fried eggs, baked beans, sausages, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, and crunchy toast — easily all the yummy things on one plate — is a remedy after a fun night out. Enjoy! 6. Activated Charcoal Pills Ligora / Getty Images This trendy ingredient, which comes in pill form, can actually absorb all the toxins and the nausea that follows. Does it work? We're not sure, but don't knock it till you try it. 7. Peppermint Oil Yurii Sidelnykov / Getty Images Alcohol brings heat, mint brings coolness. So it only makes sense to counteract the headache from the body heat and dehydration with a cooling peppermint oil! The trick, it seems, is to rub some of the oil onto your head and your ears, and voila! The headache is gone! 8. Cork Voodoo Estudio Originar / Getty Images This one doesn't involve putting substances in your own body, but rather, attacking the cork of the wine bottle you drank from the night before! Seemingly a Haitian ritual, it involves sticking 13 black-top pins into a cork to punish the bottle for the hangover. What about non-cork-wine-bottles? Try any one of the others. 9. ORS or Electral Alpacako / Getty Images/iStockphoto Okay, this one actually comes with some scientific backing, in that Oral Rehydration Solutions (ORS) or Electral can actually really help restore all the lost electrolytes in your now dehydrated system, and set everything right again. With time, of course. 10. Prairie Oyster Fastsnail / Getty Images Who's up for shots? Not the alcoholic kind, though. Dangerous as it may be to consume raw eggs, this remedy, called the Prairie Oyster, is a drink made with one raw egg, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, salt, and pepper. And you have to take it down in one go. Why? We're still working that part out. 11. Coconut Water Everyday Better To Do Everything / Getty Images Electrolytes and potassium in an all-natural drink — what could go wrong? Nothing! Get yourself a glass, or many, and sip away. Pretend you're on vacation, if that helps. 12. Hangover Heaven Associated Press via YouTube / Via youtube.com What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but the legend of the Hangover Heaven Bus has definitely made it out of the desert of Nevada. The bus, which is a rolling clinic with private bunks and a kitchenette, actually provides people with IV fluids and solutions to heal their hangovers, making them party ready for one more night. WOW! 13. Popsicles Westend61 / Getty Images/Westend61 They're made with water and sugar, at the base of all things, so popsicles, particularly those for kids, are actually a pretty cool (sorry-not-sorry for the pun) remedy for the hangover, and sucking on one could rid you of the nausea, too. 14. Go for a run Jacob Wackerhausen / Getty Images Didn't get enough dancing in, the night before? Well, turns out, you can sweat off the alcohol and rid yourself of the hangover, with the endorphins kicking in and curing that headache, too. Some Native American remedies suggest licking your own sweat after, to put salts back in your system, but you can skip that part, we think. 15. Rabbit Poo Tea Poteco / Getty Images/iStockphoto We saved the weirdest for the last, we promise. If the cowboys in Western America are to be believed, steeping pellets of rabbit poo in water, and drinking the tea that's made, can actually cure the hangover you're nursing right now. That's a tea we'll spill happily, without a sip. Do you have any weird hangover remedies that totally work? Share them in the comments below!
