3 Reasons Why Playing Beer Pong For The Entirety Of A Party Actually Sucks

Playing Beer Pong is tons of fun. That is an undeniable fact. However, parties have so much more to offer than what at the end of the day is a superficial game.

1. You’re Isolated

Sure. You might have a few spectators watching your intense games of pong, but half of those spectators are most likely people who are waiting to play the winner of your match. Which means if you're any good at the game, half the people watching are praying on your downfall so that they can win the next match more easily. So that awesome bounce-in shot you just made that you and your teammate are celebrating about was noticed by little to nobody.

2. You Will Most Likely Go Home Alone

I personally think that it's extremely impressive when people are sinking shots left and right playing beer pong, but unfortunately it's not something you can really go pro doing or even get a scholarship for. Oh and that girl you were counting on getting with after your pong run is way too busy chatting with a guy who's smart enough to experience everything the party has to offer. Unless you came with a woman, you're probably leaving alone…. or worse – with the ugly friend.

3. You Get Entirely Too Wasted

If you’re playing classic beer pong, every time somebody from the other team sinks a shot into one of your cups you have to drink all the beer that’s in that cup. So if you’re playing a lot of games, there’s a good chance you’ll be one drunken son of a gun by the time your run is over. You’ll probably be too wasted to enjoy whatever remnants of the party are left. But hey, I hear the cleanup after the party is supposed to be a really awesome experience.

4. Reversal

Just like most other rules and philosophies, the points I made above all have exceptions.

Once in a "Blue Moon" there will be a party that is centered around beer pong.

Everybody will be watching each game closely, cheering, and booing. You could very well be involved in a match that will go down in beer pong history.

You won’t go home alone if you somehow manage to partner up with a single girl whose actually dope at beer pong. The thrill of winning as a team might just be the spark you need.

As far as the getting entirely too wasted thing goes - That may very well be the goal of the night. You might make some legendary memories that you won’t remember, but if other people do that’s really all that matters. However, if you are amazing at pong and rarely miss a shot, you might end up being relatively sober by the end of it all. If your skill is unmatched by any opponent you will make every one of your shots before your opponents have a chance to make many at all.
