The Doctor "borrowed" a Type 40 TARDIS from his home planet of Gallifrey.
Amy, or Amelia, Pond grew up next to a time rift and helped the Doctor defeat the Daleks, the Weeping Angels, and the Silurians. Also known as the Girl Who Waited, she married Rory Williams, a nurse, whom she knew since primary school.

In "The Christmas Invasion," the newly regenerated Tenth Doctor spent most of the episode in bed. In the final battle with the Sycorax, the Tenth Doctor lost a hand, but regrew it and won the battle with a satsuma.
The Slitheen are large green creatures that hunt in groups with their huge claws. They skin their victims and use these skins as cunning disguises, although fitting in them gives them terrible wind.
Martha was a medical student in London when she met the Doctor, who helped save her and her hospital from a Judoon police force and a runaway Plasmavore.

Lady Cassandra claimed to be the last human alive whilst on the viewing platform of the rich and famous who came to watch the Earth being swallowed by the Sun. She had had so much surgery that Rose Tyler remarked, "You're just skin,Cassandra! Lipstick and skin!"
When the Doctor landed on the possessed asteroid, House, the soul of the TARDIS was put into the body of Idris, so that the Doctor, Amy, and Rory could not escape. Unfortunately, the TARDIS could not last long in a human body and had to be put back into its original self.
