If you have one party game in your game cupboard, it should be Cards Against Humanity (CAH). The irreverent game is easy to play and laugh out loud moments are practically guaranteed within just a few minutes of opening the box. One of many cool things about the game is that it’s published under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike. That ridiculously long string of words means anyone can make their own cards for the game, they just can’t sell them. The license leaves the door wide open for parodies and Conventional Improv, a comedy group, has made a deck based on Doctor Who.
Cards Against Gallifrey came about because the comedy group performs a game show based on CAH and they made a Who version in honor of the 50th anniversary. The 72+ card deck features a ton of quips with names, creatures, and a lot of inappropriate references. In other words, it’s perfect. You can download the entire deck for free at Drop Canvas. I can’t wait to see the card combos from this version pop up on Instagram.
