12 Things You Can Do If You're Stressed AF

I think it's safe to say that we've all experienced some kind of stress before but especially during school.

I mean there are the tests, peer pressure, identity struggles, studying, sports, electives, club activities, yada yada...and on top of that you have to balance everything?!

But let's revisit some of the greatest aspects.

But the hardest part would probably be how to balance EVERYTHING: aka tradeoffs.

If this is already giving you anxiety, then the first thing to do is BREATHE.

In and out, in and out. Just breathe until you can calm down a little or feel better or simply get a glass of water.

But we think it's time to get into the good stuff: TIPS

Sleep is soo important. This is when your brain is reorganizing and storing what you've learned in the day. The best thing you can do before a test is get a good night of sleep because your brain is remembering the material you studied. Also, it rejuvenates you and if you've ever pulled an all-nighter, you know that you don't usually feel your best.

A reward might not seem like a lot; it might just be a scoop of ice cream or an extra hour of sleep, but it has much more of an impact than we imagine. When we reward ourselves for a job well done, we acknowledge that we have achieved something and that we should be proud of that. When we don't do anything, we brush off that step towards success and make it seem as though that is the minimum we need to hit every time. You need to accept that with your failures, you also have successes, and you need to pat yourself on the back for that even if it's giving yourself a night off or movies with friends![Chocolate is a great reward by the way because it also releases endorphins that make you feel all happy and nice inside].

So what if you got a B this time, it is not going to destroy your chances of becoming a doctor; there are so many roads ahead or you to take that just because one doesn't work out, doesn't mean that your life is done for good. Keep going and be in touch with reality!

Not the kind of FUN that Plankton preaches but the kind that makes you feel great and happy to be alive. These are the moments that you'll remember when you're sitting at your desk staring at spreadsheets or counting the hours until the end of the school year.

Think of them like sponges; when you're around them, they suck up some of your worries, stress, and bad mojo so you leave feeling happier and refreshed. Animals have been known to provide awesome health benefits to the sick and the stressed (wink wink that's you). Sorry to those of you who are allergic but dogs are probably the best to snuggle and pet your worries away.

Gosh this is a hard one but honestly it's sooooo important to accept yourself and who you are. Accept that you might be better at some things than others (and yes, you are good at at least one thing); be confident in your ability to achieve. You won't do well in a test, an interview, or in life if you keep doubting yourself. You can do anything if you put your mind to it and honestly, like some famous person once said, "Your biggest enemy is yourself".

Accept that you might be better at some things than others (and yes, you are good at at least one thing); be confident in your ability to achieve.
