I saw the performance right after this one and he was extremely apologetic about it, explained that he gave into a very human reflex to want to be offended and that he felt horrible about the whole situation. I support everything he said and I thought his description of the events and his feelings were exactly the right way to feel after making a huge lapse of judgment in an emotionally charged moment.
Also: his set was absolutely AMAZINGLY funny. Blew my high expectations out of the water. If you expect him to be as funny as his recent pop ups in culture were, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by his own material.

Hey emily G you should probably go back to school if your gonna try and give history lessons. Hitler killed way more then 6 million people but he did kill 6 million JEWS. I guess your history text probably came from the texas school system so maybe that is what you were taught but trying reading a real book about world war 2 before you go off on rants about subjects that are fairly common knowledge without having any

I was teaching a lesson as a student teacher to a class of 8th graders four years ago and brought up the war in the middle east. A few kids kept shouting that Bush was Hitler. I followed that by asking if they knew what it meant to compare someone to the awfulness that is Hitler and they just stared at me for a sec, and then went back to spouting other slogans they heard on tv. “No blood for oil” and so on. Those kids are at least 18 now and may be old enough to get in to some comedy clubs.

the one thing I will say on the Obama/Hitler comparison is their respective cults of personality. Now, my generation’s near blind following of Obama from around ‘06 until election day-and in some cases beyond-is NOT the same as the Hitler youth but both men are/were fantastic orators able to move whole crowds of people. I think it’s totally wrong to throw around Hitler or Nazi comparisons in such a cavalier way when it comes to policy, but, on SOME levels, in terms of their charm and their public appeal there are certain similarities

The only problem I have with this is he said that all 6 million people Hitler killed were Jewish. This isn’t true, yeah he killed Jewish people but he didn’t focus on one minority. Jewish, black, gay, mentally handicapped, physically handicapped, and people who spoke against him. Hitler was basically an equal opportunity asshole, if he didn’t like you he would try to kill you. End of history lesson…I’m off my soapbox
