A gallon of gas at the station was $3.17 in 2008, when the Obama campaign made this web video. As of Thursday, GasBuddy.com it was $3.53.

SashaWoodsonComedy a year agogas prices fluctuate! the recent hike probably stems from the posturing of iran. where i am, gas is about 3.47. but who was to “blame” when gas was under 3 dollars a week after the ghadaffi regime was toppled? whenever a country that produces large amounts of oil gets twitchy, prices go up. shit calms down, oil prices go down. check out the prices during the arab spring in egypt, then after mubarak left.

Not seeing the point of this comparison. The national average is currently somewhere in the $3.60s I believe, and in many places it’s pushing $5. So $3.53 is comparatively low. …But it’s not like Obama or any other single person can do anything about gas prices anyway. The current increase is related to Iran threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz, and market speculators.
