A.Leigh 10 months agoOkay, so I have a policy to never respond to the Facebook comments, but one particular comment confused me a little and I would love it if someone could explain the logic to me… “Ann Romney’s “personal” cookie recipe calls for corn syrup? Seriously? You gotta love rich white trash. Oh wait, no you don’t.” I’m guessing the implication is that corn syrup = white trash? I don’t get it. Is that a thing? Because I’m pretty sure it’s like the main ingredient in caramel (or at least caramel corn), so I don’t see how it’s somehow white trash. Anyone?

I’m the kind of person who makes a double quantity of brownies “so I can share them with the family”, but ends up eating the entire batch. 5 dozen - or even 3 dozen - cookies would spell disaster. But now I’m thinking about cookies so I’ll totally have to make some tomorrow.

Michelle wins because I first glance I could tell she baked cookies. Had it not been for the name of the recipe and the name of this article, I wouldn’t have known those things that Ann cooked were cookies.
