    up until 7th grade, my mom never let me watch television when i had a sick day. she literally made me stay in bed. her theory was that if i was really sick, i should be in bed and if i was faking, i should stay in bed as punishment. however, telling a nerdy kid to stay in bed, read and listen to music all day isn’t a bad thing at all.
