The Real Story Of Barack Obama

yankeechick 11 months agoYou people on the left and the right never cease to amaze me,this article is neither pro nor con, it is just a interpretation of a book about a book. Plain and simple
It suggest that stories one is told as a child over the years of telling, that they become more like folklore, rather than whole truths.
The writer David Maraniss is not out to get Mr. Obama, (neither is Ben Smith) he is just investigating the stories that were told to Mr. Obama from the people in his life. It is not his fault that these stories were embellished, or in some cases not true.

jameslas 11 months agoAgree with gpdrometer. The instant Smith refers to the book’s accusations as “truth”, any claims to objectivity are forfeit.

gpdrometer 11 months agoI beg to differ. Notice in the headline and intro to the article, Ben Smith makes his slant abundantly clear by word choice…
“the *REAL* story of Barack Obama”
“a new biography *FINALLY* challenges Obama’s famous memoir.” Smith wastes no time telling us how anxiously he’s been waiting for someone to expose Obama for… what exactly? not being as black as he claims to be? -
