Hylian_Nerd 2 months agoI love how these parents are all “oh they’re just names there’s no hate behind them” and I’m just sitting here thinking “bitch, ‘Aryan Nation’ isn’t just a name for a kid”.

berry connell 4 years ago….and, of course, folks with the name Joeseph (Stalin), Benito (Mussolinni), and George, junior (Bush) should also avoid bakeries that decide who can get what and when they can have it. The rumor I heard was that Frank Zappa and his wife named Dweezel at the hospital, the nurse wouldn’t permit the name, inserted her own choice, and somehow that became the legal name. And then, later in his life, Dweezel had his name changed to what it is, now. In the end, it isn’t the name that makes the man or woman, but rather, the man or woman who makes the name.

Jimmy Meltrigger 4 years agoGood for you Walmart, you just don’t give a shit what anyone thinks of you anymore do you? Besides the Nazi boots, the best thing about this man’s inability to realize those around him aren’t as stupid as he is was the quote that claimed everyone but him is living in the past.

angryifunfed 4 years agoI can actually see (as I live in the ass-crack of the midwest) that people exist who A) do shit like naming their kids this way and B) sincerely believe the kind of things this guy claims to believe. It’s hard to conceive that this guy is being sincere when the only people you’ve seen use Nazi symbolism are hate-filled assholes, but there ARE actually people who were raised DEEPLY racist and had to bring that into multi-cultural modern America as their “culture.” I’m not saying that such a situation isn’t screwed up. I’m just saying that such charged, emotional symbolism has been SO overdone in some quarters (while practical, everyday tolerance has been useful enough to co-exist with it) that there are really white people who have emotional relationships with symbols like the swastika and best friends who are black. Welcome to the 21st century. It’s great that we revile symbols of hate, but (as nutty as it seems) that doesn’t need to mean that we need to witch hunt those who have some kind of affinity for such things, so long as they act properly and treat other’s humanely. Also- I see how screwed up this guy has made his kid’s life. I know a guy who’s first born son is named “Raistlin” after a Dungeons and Dragons character. That kid’s ass is gonna get tanned into iron by the time he hits puberty. People who have kids before they’re mature do that to their kids. What can you do? I can only imagine the lectures this will illicit. But I’ve lived in the progressive half of America and the backward- it’s hard to explain the organic, functioning “idiot” half of our culture to the half that can draw a thesis from a greeting card. If you haven’t seen both, this kind of shit is just plain opaque. -Vos
