Nowhere have I seen the odds of getting these things once exposed. I would imagine they are pretty low since these stories don't come up very often (if ever).
Its the same as with West Nile Virus, or Bird Flu or Brain Cancer from Cell phones. These people want you to always be scared. I trust that my mother (and probably yours) raised you to be clean enough to never have to worry about this condition.
