well, if slaughtered for food, I guess it's OK. Go ahead and kill and buthcher every danged thing you find breathing. Then we can get down to the business of deciding who to eat instead of what we eat. I mean….that's what the stupid tv is telling you, right? Keep shoveling that garbage down your gullets. I've seen videos of this act before on Faroe Island. A fleet of ships chased them towards the beach where they were slaughtered.

Whales that are already dead do not turn the water red. If you look closely at the picture you can see on some of the whales the cut they had to make to kill the whale and drain the blood (or drain the blood to kill the whale). The same thing is done to a cow, and we slaughtered goats the same way. Even when the animal was already dead (ie Hog via gunshot) you still had to drain the blood. People call this barbaric, well, hunting/preparing an animal does tend to get messy. It would be barbaric if the animals were killed just to be killed and the animal was wasted

How one can excuse barbarism under the banner of understanding other cultures is beyond me. If that were lake full of hacked up brown babies I wager you'd all be singing a different tune.

Humans have killed/slaughtered animals since the begining for food and other resources. ALot of poeple dont want to know how an animal gets from the land/water to their supermarket. This reminds me of my childhood, how my dad slaugtered the chickens and how Hog + .357 = Bacon. I will spare all of you the details.

As much as I abhor the idea of whaling, it is very important for their way of life as climate and land conditions make farming very difficult. They depend greatly on this for all things the whale provides. Their whaling practices are non-commercial and it is something the entire community is involved in and everything is shared, its been part of their culture for centuries. According to the article measures have been taken over the years to reduce the cruel aspects of it, and there are even people supervising the annual “hunt” It sucks, but its necessary.
